Teams: Patrick, Maciej, Jacob, Robbie, James and Alex vs. Jordan, Ezra, Tommy, Neil, Moyra, Graham and Matthew C. Score: a 9-8 win for Pat's not quite yellow squad. Game Rating (out of 10): 7 - Great start, better performances, but slow finish. Notable absentees: Peter, Jordan T., Matthew S., Josh. Offensive Player of the Game: Robbie. Spread the offence beautifully. Defensive Player of the Game: Tommy. Good lateral movement. Special Teams Player of the Game: James. Got good yards. Pitch and Weather: Cold, snowy, with zero flurries. Not as icy as before, with more traction resulting in fewer slippages. Summary: Another televised FFL game, another success. This time, the players stepped up their performances. What looked early on to be a repeat of the previous week's game (a lot of mahoneys, poor run patterns) turned out only to be a blip. Numerous players had big games, with no one player having a really bad outting. The victorious not quite yellow squad was led by Robbie, who spread the wealth amongst a rich receiving corps. The losing blue squad was led by the triple threat of Jordan, Ezra and Matt C., arguably the best assembled three pronged attack since Windu, Yoda and Obi Wan. The game was ended when James rumbled in for his second TD of the game, after Robbie found him with a nice, crisp pass. Bogus Moment of the Day - The jukes. The hero; Jordan. The villains; Robbie and James. Jordan, picking up a loose ball from a Yee kick, head faked Robbie into submission. Not finished, he then did a spin oh rama that made James eat groundish snow. Disgusting stuff. Bogus stuff. Player Ratings (out of 10, 4 being the lowest):
Robbie - 9; This time, he took the game into his own hands. At times, was the deciding factor. Maciej - 7; A couple of nice diving catches, with his hammies paying the brunt of the price. Patrick - 9; You can't argue with a guy who plays better with one foot than most do with 2. James - 8; A consistent threat on the offensive end. Showed some nice moves on special teams. Jordan - 8; Frustrated with a lack of receiver creativity, but you can't argue with his arm. Neil - 6.5; Despite tying an FFL record for mahoney futility, Neil did well defensively. Jacob - 8; A very good receiver when he's on his day, which was the case today. Graham - 6; Offered little outside his one touchdown. Fashion sense continues to awe. Ezra - 8; Continues to lead the FFL in touchdowns after today. Could've had more. Tommy - 7.5; Defensively stalwart, with 2 Hand of Toms breaking up surefire Pat touchdowns. Matthew C. - 9; He's just so good when he wants to be. Elusive, and scored a fair share. Moyra - 5.5; Didn't wow or pow anyone with her moves. Hurt her arm on James' awesome abs. Alex - 7.5; He made the most catches for the victorious squad, but was burned defensively. |
