January 10, 2006
Teams: Robbie, Jacob, Patrick and Alex D. vs. Lenny, James, Tommy, Maciej and Matthew Soegtrop.
Score: A 9-9 tie between Rob's brownies and Lenny's sunshine yellows.
Game Rating (out of 10): 9 - Despite poor field, a good game.
Notable absentees:  Johnny, Danielle, Peter, Matthew Couto, Dylan.
Offensive Player of the Game: Jacob.  4 TDs, all around nuisance.
Defensive Player of the Game
: Matthew S.  A couple of picks.
Special Teams Player of the Game
: Alex D.  Dangerous.
Pitch and Weather
:  The weather was warm, and hence the field was muddier than ever before.  The FFL reconvened onto a smaller spot of the field, one where there was little grass -- K would be proud.
Summary
:  Rob's brownies managed a 9-9 tie with Lenny's bambombolous yellows in the first game of 2006.  The brownies were led by Rob and Jacob, the former having 9 touchdowns on the night and the latter with 4 receiving TDs plus a key interception and fumble recovery.  On the other hand, the yellows were led by an inspired Maciej, who at one time was so mad that he tied his hat flaps together in a show of defiance.  They also got key contributions from Lenny and Mini Soegtrop, who both had 3 touchdowns.  The latter, playing his first game since joining the RuneScape cult of Yore, was a bit off on the receiving end, but managed to contribute in other ways.  The game ended on a stalemate, with Jake missing a Robbie throw.
Bogus Moment of the Day
- The brownies inability to kick the ball past the grass.  Worst kickoff display ever.
Player Ratings (out of 10, 4 being the lowes
t):
Robbie
- 8.5; Started off like he was some kind of hot mama, but cooled like an uglied hot down the stretch.  Was harassed by "snowboats" (Lenny's term for steamboats) all night long.  9 ptds.
Jacob
- 10; Played his best game ever; was the reason the brownies managed a tie.  4 tds, 1 int.
Patrick
- 8; A bit of a floater, but scored his usual 3 tds nonetheless.  Awful kicker of the ball.
Maciej
- 7; Inspired some good play, but tying of hat flaps did not help his team to victory.
Lenny
- 8; Despite his claims to being the best at "snowboats", he was helpful in other areas.  Managed 3 tds, and had an awesome assist on Tommy's td.  Likes it at Rosedale.
Matthew Soegtrop
- 8; Rusty on the offensive end, but had 2 interceptions and 3 total TDs.
Tommy
- 9; Tom's hand of Tom was out and about in full force.  Had a fluky-bun touchdown, which bounced off of Lenward's hands before ending up at his chest.  Had 1 int as well.
Alex D.
- 8.5; Quietly put up 2 TDs, and also had 2 interceptions.  No snappy ass comments.
James - 6.5; Had only 1 touchdown was as lazy as one could expect out of the McCaul man.
