| FHL Recap - Wed., Feb. 15th, '06 Participants - Tommy, Patrick, Robbie, Jacob, Graham, Danielle, James, Maciej, Michael and Adam. Offensive Player of the Game - Jacob; Used his body a bit too much on the followthrough checks, but was superb around the boards. A lot of goals came from sheer hustle. Defensive Player of the Game - Danielle; Sees the game beautifully without the ball. Several key stops. Best Shotblock - Maciej, with a right footed kick save when Jacob thought he had him beat. Is it the shoes? Best Goal - Not really any nice goals to talk about, with all the hacking going on. However, James, Robbie, Patrick and Danielle all had nice finishes at one time or another. If one had to choose, it'd be Rob's from the corner slot shot that eluded two sticks. Biggest Whiff - Tommy missing on a wide open net. HOW!? Just, why? Best Deke - Patrick on Robbie. Pat grabbed the ball and put it between his legs, facing backwards to Rob. The ball rolled under the blade of Rob beautifully, leaving Rabby in the dust. Patrick then whipped a shot on net that somehow went wide. Great stuff. Rob is still looking for Patrick. Best Pass - Danielle's incredible lead pass to Maciej in the last game. Mac found himself entirely open, with nothing but a yawning cage to fire it into. Best Fashion Sense - Danielle, looking sharp and stylish. Worst Fashion Sense - Graham, ready for a spur of the moment shoe-chess game. Bogus Moment - Jacob. In a span of 2 minutes, he fell 4 times, attempted to grab the ball with his hand, bodychecked three people, slashed 2 others and asked, "What'd I do?" Ratings - Tommy - 10; You can't really ask much more from the guy. He shows up and plays his heart out. Never complains, never rags on his teammates. Should shoot more often though. Robbie - 8.5; With Daddy Rabby leaving for Calgary, Rob played his heart out. Rounding out his game nicely, with some good defensive stops to go along with his regular tally of goals. Graham - 4; Offered little outside of complaining and talking. Maciej - 7; Tried to play his way through the hacking. Not bad. Patrick - 10; Playing with a new stick did wonders for the guy, as he continued to show some offensive prowess. Never gives up on a play and has skills to boot. Not pidgeons. James - 4; Whined all the time and had a lot fewer goals than usual. Maybe he was on his monthly or something. Shutup already. Michael - 7.5; Can't ask for anything else in a debut. Adam - 7.5; Diddo. Good stickhandling. Danielle - 10; Scored, defended, stole the ball, passed it nicely, never gave up on plays, not afraid to go into the corners with the often dangerous Jacob. First game in a while and was superb. Never off the pace. Jacob - 8; Started off borderline violent, but calmed down and played well throughout. The leading scorer on the day. Should get right-handed stick. |
