Teams: Matthew Couto, Patrick, Graham, Robbie and Alex D. vs. Matthew Soegtrop, James, Tommy, and Maciej
Final Score: 13-11 for Matthew Couto and the rest Offensive Player of the Game: Matthew Couto with 7 touchdowns on the ground and 3 in the air. Also had one hell of a defensive game, with numerous blocks and one interception. Defensive Player of the Game: Matthew Couto again, with a number of picks and tricks to satisfy any hicks. Special Teams Player of the Game: Again, Couto. Always dangerous on the kickoff and equally dangerous when defending a kick. Summary: What started off as a dull game, ended up being one hell of a barnburner. The game was up and down on both sides, with Matthew Couto and Patrick leading their side to eventual victory. Maciej and Matthew Soegtrop made it close for the losers, but they ended being just that: losers. Game Rating (out of 10): 9 - entertaining to say the least. Pitch and Weather: Fern Avenue field was in absolute dissaray on this Sunday. The field itself was covered in ice, rendering many runs to resemble that of TIP TOE fest 1993 (ie. people running on tip toes to avoid fallances). There was a bit of a poop on the west side as well. Mr. K not seen. Car parked near basketball court. No sign of Icabod AKA the Swan, scout from University of Botch. It was chilly, but Alex and James were too cool to wear jackets. Tommy realized halfway through the game that he was too cool as well and ditched the jacket like the cool guy that he is. Bogus Moment of the Day - James kicked in the head via Graham's left footmula. Honorable mention goes to Robbie's impression of ol' Scot Rowdy Roddy Piper - "we cannae play till toooo". Player Ratings (out of 10, 1 being the lowest): Matthew Couto - 10; numerous touchdowns, classy all around play. James - 4; useless on offensive end, helped out some on defence; be bogus Robbie - 7; quiet on defensive end, but awesome at QB with 9 passing TDs Patrick - 9; six receiving touchdowns, kept falls to a minimum despite ice. Maciej - 6; not a good game by any means, but still managed to compete Graham - 6; quietly contributed, plaid shirt lowers his grade. Matthew Soegtrop - 8; six touchdowns, but was distracted by snow. Tommy - 7; solid offensive game, but defense was lacking in some cases Alex D. - 6; an usually quiet game for said Alex D.; only one TD to his name |
