Jordan D., Neil, Patrick, Jordan T., and Thomas versus Robbie, Maciej, Peter, Cole, and Taylor. Final Score 11-8 victory for Rob's reds.
Summary:
The reds took it to the blues on an abnormally warm February game, 11-8. "We took it to them," Peter said. "That's about all there was to it." With temperatures hitting close to 7 degrees above the freezing mark, players dropped jackets in favor of sweatshirts in a tightly contested game. The reds took an early lead, thanks to a couple of fantastic runs by wide receiver Maciej C. "Look, you play to win," the Packers fan said. "You don't play to make friends. I may like Jordan D. and Thomas as people, but if I see them in front of me, blocking my way to the glory line, I'm a push em. I'm a push em. The reds also got good secondary scoring from Cole and Peter, both of whom touching in two TDs in the win. The losing blues got a poor effort from QB Jordan D., who tossed a career (and league) high 8 interceptions. "My throws were pigeon like," the Italian said after the game.
Bogus moment of the game Jordan's interceptions. How can one so accurate toss eight in one game?
Offensive Player of the Game - Maciej - Incredible athleticism on display in domination. Defensive Player of the Game - Maciej - 4 tds, numerous good plays on elusive Pat. Special Teams Player of the Game - Peter - threw blocks (and opponents) with aplomb.
Player Ratings:
Patrick 8.5; Good in a losing cause, despite a few drops. A couple of great catches. Maciej - 9.5; Perfect, but for a tired stretch in the middle. Inspired performance. Jordan D. - 5; Struggled horribly at times, flicking the ball up the middle not a good plan. Taylor - 7; Did what had to be done, and was on the winning team in the end. Cole - 8; Great secondary scoring. Catches the ball up high with great ease. Robbie - 9.5; Combined with Maciej to make a great onfield combo. Confident. Jordan T. - 9; Great in a losing cause. Did his usual superman act, which amazed all. Neil - 8; Powerful attacks on the QB, resulting in two sacks. Offensively, okay. Peter - 9; Good in stretches, particularly near the end. Put pressure on Jordan D. Thomas - 7; Did what had be done, much like T., but some snaps lacked pop. |
