Awards (Continued) |
Hardest Shot - Winner - Jesse; Runners up - Matthew Couto, Maciej.
Jesse, even when on rollerblades, proved to have a blast that was simply brutal. It is not recommended that anyone sane try to stop his shot with their body. |
Most Accurate Shot - Winner - Josh; Runners up - Matthew Couto, Jesse.
Could pick the top corner or the bottom slot with ease, even at top speeds. Has skill beyond the wazoo. Could also get the shot off in traffic, or whilst being harassed by opponents. When he has the ball, there isn't much a defender can do. |
Most Penalized Player - Winner - Jacob; Runners up - David, Peter.
Jacob was sent off for a myriad of disinterested moves that caused harm to his opponents. As always he claimed his innocence, and as per usual, took his rightful seat on the bench for a short two minutes. |
Rookie of the Year - Winner - Neil; Runners up - Graham, Jesse.
Neil came in and almost immediately proved his worth to the FHL. Showed none of the rookie fear that usually befalls even the most promising players. |
Most Assists - Winner - Maciej; Runners up - Patrick, James.
As was aforementioned, Maciej is the best passer in the FHL. It follows suit then that he'd have the highest assist total. As the passing game improved over the season, and more incredible goals were created by timely vision and tape to tape connections, Maciej remained heads above the rest. Yay. |
The Jim Carrey Trophy - Winner - Jacob; Runners up - Graham, Robbie.
This award is presented to the player who makes the most blunders, either with intention or not. Ah, Captain Ugly and his ways. Obviously not his favourite sport, nor probably his best one in terms of his own ability, Jake did show heart and commitment to the games he did play in. That said his ability to either hold the stick completely wrong, or throw players out of the rink was genuinely...interesting. |
Most Dexterous Player - Winner - Josh; Runners Up - Matthew S., Jacob.
This award is given to the player with the ultimate combo of speed and agility. You have to be fast as hell to beat out speed demons Matt and Jacob, and Josh is just that. If you think you can outrun him, you're in for a surprise and three quarters. |
The Dylan Leetch Award - Winner - Graham; Runners up - James, Matthew Couto.
Graham takes the Dylan Leetch Award, awarded to the player who exemplifies a knack for pissing people off. Graham simply would never shutup, nor would he ever go one play without complaining about a lack of service up front or a general dislike for someone's look or sound. This from the guy who wore checkerboard shoes and an Avril Lavigne tie to hockey games. |
Most Ridiculous Hockey Stick Award - Winners - James, Robbie, Patrick
A three way tie for this award for the 2nd season in a row. Robbie played the entire season with a blade as thick as a Q-tip again, Pat's stick gets smaller as he grows taller, and James had the ball jump over his craptastic stick of much thin blade ways. |
Clutch Player Award - Winner - Tommy; Runners up - Patrick, Alex D.
This award, given to the player who steps up to the plate when the game is on the line, goes to Tommy. Nevermind the fact that his floating game can be irritating, he will fight for every loose ball and fire in clutch goals here and there. Honorable mentions go to Patrick, who continues his wild ways and Alex D., particulary for his clutch saves when playing goaltender. |
