| FHL Recap - Mon., Dec. 4th, 2006 Participants - Robbie, Patrick, Tommy, Jordan, Peter, Neil and Maciej. Offensive Player of the Game - Tommy; the right place at the right time. Defensive Player of the Game - Maciej; pillar at the back. Played at: Gareena Notable Absentees - Alex, James, Ezra, Matthew C., Josh. Best Shotblock/Save - Maciej, who after being absolutely undressed by Jordan, swung his stick back behind him, swiping the ball away from Jordan. A last ditch effort, that worked quite well. Best Goal - Maciej. After making a nice move past Jordan, he flipped the ball up in the air past Neil, before tapping it up over Peter. All that was left was the finish, which he accomplished top shelf. Best Goalkeeper - Peter, who tried to destroy the ball instead of just simply saving it. Outdueled Maciej, who combined the spectacular with the super ugly. Best Deke - see best goal. Best Pass - Maciej, laying off a perfectly timed pass to Tommy on a 3-1. Looked one way, passed the other. Tom had a simple tap in. Biggest 'Robbie' - Patrick. After Maciej fired it off of Jordan's leg, the ball bounced nicely onto the stick of Pat. Pat took a few steps towards the yawning cage, but fired it super wide. Biggest 'Jacob' - Jordan, firing a shot off of Peter's stick way over keep Maciej and out of the rink. Best Fashion Sense - Peter; braver than most to wear a tee. Worst Fashion Sense - Tommy; like a turtle with his balls on ice. The James Moment - Too many on this day, with honorable mentions going to Robbie and Jordan's fight, Robbie and Maciej's opening fight, Robbie having his stick flung over by Jordan, and Robbie rushing home for dinner. Surprisingly however, the moment has nothing to do with Robbie. The James moment was in fact Peter's dive into the fence in full goalie equipment. I've said it before and I'll say it again: the guy has no pain threshold. Convo of the Day - Robbie - Guys, I have to go home for din-din. Maciej - (to everyone) Come on boys, hurry it up. Rob's brocolli can't be reheated. Robbie - (after scoring winning goal) Yay! Maciej - You deserve seconds on your taters. (Neil hi fives Tommy, Jordan does a sunflower dance) Notable Watchers - People coming out of the school, woman who passed Robbie his stick, kids playing on the field, a few gangsta wannabes. Ratings (4 lowest, 10 highest) - Peter - 7; Generally successful in goaltender debut. Jordan - 8.5; His fair share of dazzling runs. Patrick - 9; Valiant in a solo effort. Neil - 7; Good defensively. Shot needs work. Maciej - 8; Looked good, a few good saves as keeper. Tommy - 9.5; About as good as it gets. Robbie - 8.5; Resurgence with Tom as his winger. |
