Jordan D., Cole, Taylor, Alex Jarzy and Maciej versus Robbie, Peter, Patrick, Ezra, Josh and Neil.
Final Score 13-12 victory for the pinks.
Summary:
The FFL braved the Southern Ontario snowstorm on Friday afternoon, resulting in a 13-12 victory for the pinks over the blues. "Oh mans, I can't even feel my face no more," lineman Taylor H. said during and after the game. Teammate and fellow face freezer Alex Jarzy agreed. "My glasses are frozen to my skin," he said. "My face feels like frozen butter." The game started off well for the blues, who got early contributions from Taylor, Jordan D., and mercenary for hire Josh B., who played receiver for both teams. However, the game became Peter's in the second half. After receiving a boot in the face from Josh, the hulking hero woke up with a fantastic second half effort; 4 touchdowns, 3 sacks, and two fumble recoveries. "It was over when Peter woke up," blues QB Maciej said. "We fought on, but he's a one-man wrecking crew." Peter for his part was more humble. "Meh," he said.
Bogus moment of the game The snowstorm/blizzard. It's ongoing as I type this, and it doesn't look to let up. Made for a good game of tackle, as the ground was as soft as a field full of marshmallows (I'm guessing here, I don't actually know how a marshmallow field would feel, but that would be sweet).
Offensive Player of the Game - Patrick - scored 5 tries, and could've had more. Defensive Player of the Game - Peter - terrorized QB's and linemen in the second half. Special Teams Player of the Game - Robbie - fired his way up field, scored a kickoff TD.
Player Ratings:
Patrick 9; Fantastic in spurts. Catching was consistent, and ran solid patterns. Maciej - 9; Fired throws of all types and varieties across the field, with equal effectiveness.
Jordan D. - 8.5; Kept his intensity at a ridiculously high level all game long. Taylor - 8; Snaps were solid, and he made a couple of great dekes in the open field. Cole - 7; Ran a couple of good secondary blocks, and stretched the defense well. Jarzy - 8; Game breaker when he got the ball. Used speed well, and braved the line. Ezra - 6.5; Great early on, but again, lost interest and faded down the stretch. Robbie - 7.5; His arm wasn't quite there, but he forced his teammates into good spots. Peter - 10; Natch, when he decides to play he's epic. Transferred personal hurt into points. Neil - 7.5; Did the dirty work on the line, and held linemen from racking up sacks. Josh - 9; He dropped a lot of catches, but he made way too many to count. Great speed. |
