Tagline - "Why does Jordan foul so much? Apparently, it's in his nature." Teams: Maciej, Jordan, Neil, Tommy and Taylor vs. Robbie, Matthew C., Matthew S., Patrick and Meng. Score: a 14-12 scoreline in favor of Mac's greens. Game Rating (out of 10): 9 - Great turnout, crazy visibility due to falling snow, and several injuries. Notable absentees: Peter, Dylan, Ezra, Jordan T., Josh. Offensive Player of the Game: Matthew C. - When he's here, he'll dominate. Defensive Player of the Game: Taylor - Several fumble recoveries. Special Teams Player of the Game: Matthew C. - Burned many with footwork. Pitch and Weather: Back to Fareena after a quick stopover at Sorauren Park. The snow was falling rather heavily, with gusts of wind making audibles at the lines a breeze for offence and a nightmare for defence. There was a slippery patch, that engulfed many victims, including Patrick and Maciej. Summary: Flag football continues to thrive in the FFL. With Jordan picking up a quick injury due to a stiffarm, these hand-defences were banned. However, the game went on rather well, with Matthew C. and Jordan going at it like the Pats and Colts did earlier this season. The game ended on Rabby dinner, with Robbie looking sadder than a puppy about to be put to sleep at a dogpound. Bogus Moment of the Day - Neil's throws - who knew he had those spirals in him? Player Ratings (out of 10, 4 being the lowest):
Robbie - 7; Again, rather inconsistent. Worked hard, but threw backbreaking interceptions again. Maciej - 8; Worked his ass of on defence. Ran the line easily and recovered fumbled snaps well. Patrick - 8; Early start was a concern, with 5 mahoneys. But some of his runs were world class. Neil - 6.5; Worked hard when he got the ball, but his dedication to the FFL seems to be off at times. Tommy - 7.5; Ran the gauntlet on defence, as per expectations. 2 nice touchdowns helped the cause. Matthew S - 7; Faded down the stretch, but the passes he got were pretty damn awful. Matthew C. - 9.5; He's one hell of a player, no doubt about it. Stopping on a dime is a piece of cake. Jordan - 9; Pretty good first rounder. Runs the field like a bulky fullback, and threw tackles like mad. Meng - 6.5; Didn't get service from his QB, but ran a few world class blocks on the way. Taylor - 9; Became the workhorse of the winning team's offence. Really picking up his game. |
