December 1, 2005
Teams: Jacob, Johnny, Tommy and Maciej vs. Robbie, Patrick, Graham and Alex D.
Score: A 10-9 win for Jake's sky color blues.
Game Rating (out of 10): 7 - Muddy surface, a lot of whining.
Notable absentees:  James, Danielle, Dylan, Matthew Couto, Owen.
Offensive Player of the Game: Robbie.  9 passing touchdowns.
Defensive Player of the Game
: Jacob.  Solid coverage on dangerous Pat.
Special Teams Player of the Game
: Johnny.  2 kickoff TDs, again.
Pitch and Weather
:  Muddier than merry Ol' England.  For the life of me, I can't figure out why they could call a place so muddy so merry!?  But I guess that is one of life's little foibles.  Another foible; where the hell was James with the glowtape?
Summary
:  Johnny scored two kickoff touchdowns and Jacob added 1 himself as his sky color blues managed to squeak by Robbie's forest green greens 10-9 on Thursday night.  Despite there being a shortage of both James and glowtape, the game was pretty decent.  Robbie managed to toss 9 touchdowns, 4 of which went to his favourite target Patrick.  However, their heroics were offset by solid games from Tommy and Johnny in particular, both of whom had banner games on the ground.  The game was ended on a Johnny touchdown, as he outran the ever dilligent Alexus D-us.
Bogus Moment of the Day
- Patrick's brilliant one handed catch - probably the best catch ever made in the FFL - was given much props from Tommy and Maciej, and most others as well.  We are not worthy, indeed.
Player Ratings (out of 10, 4 being the lowes
t):
Robbie
- 9; Set a new FFL 2005-06 single game record with 9 passing touchdowns.  Managed to make key decisions up until the last few plays, when his accuracy abandoned him.  Is about as effective as a three legged octopus when on defence however.
Jacob
- 7; Came a bit later than everyone else, but was ecstatic to hear the game had not been long in the running.  Speaking of running, he did a lot of that, but not all of it was effective.  1 kickoff touchdown and 1 receiving TD off an interception.  Has worst Star Wars knowledge ever.
Patrick
- 9; Scoff if you will at his size and average speed, but Patrick is one of the best receivers in the FFL.  Numbers don't lie; had 4 touchdowns, taking him way past James into 1st in FFL scoring.  Was solid if unspectacular on defence.  Kickoff receptions were weak at times.
Maciej
- 5; Maintains good looks despite bulky hat and muddy field.
Alex D.
- 8; Had 3 touchdowns, but outside of that was relatively quiet.  Defended Johnny well enough.  Highlight of the night: throwing Johnny to the ground and stealing Pat's hat.
Graham
- 8; What a brilliant start, 3 touchdowns in a span of 15 minutes.  And though he did kind of cool down in the second half, his brilliant handoff runs (runs which QB Rob dinnae even know about) had everyone going, "woop woop."  Or sanch like that.
Tommy
- 8.5; Had 2 touchdowns on this day, one on the ground and one in the air.  Is probably the FFL's most effective runningback.  Sideway runs no longer a concern or issue.
Johnny
- 8.5;  Again, great O and S, but no D.  Runs like the wind, but seems to get bored rather quickly if the ball is not aimed in his direction.  However, is a devastating force if on his game and for the most part, was on fire today.  Leads the FFL in kickoff touchdowns with 8 (2 today).
