4th Annual  FFL Awards 2006-2007
Fern Football League Awards for the 2006-2007 season
Miscellaneous Awards
Fastest Player - Winner - Neil; Runners up - Matthew S., Jacob

Apparently, we haven't even see the peaks of Neil's "Mach" runs.  We've seen him hit Mach 12 before, but supposedly there is a Mach 13 in his arsenal that he hasn't brought out yet.
Slowest Player - Winner - Jordan; Runners up - Taylor, Tommy.

Apparently, we haven't seen the 'peaks' of Jordan's futile running attempts.  If Chad Kilger has hands of stone, then Jordan and his fellow runners up have feets of cement.
FFL Dedication Award - Winner - Robbie; Runners up - Patrick, Neil.

Awarded to the person who shows the most perserverance and dedication to the football principles of the FFL, Robbie is the clear choice.  He played in all 26 games, rarely took a shift off, even on tough nights, and put in an effort in all aspects.  A football guru.  Honorable mentions go to Patrick, who provided secondary filming duties, and Neil who in his first season played all but one game.
Butterfingers Mahoney Award - Most - Winner - Tommy/Neil; Runners up - Jacob, Peter
Tommy/Neil took the 'award' with 53 each, Jacob 2nd with 45, and Peter third with 32.

Butterfingers Mahoney Award - Average (minimum 5 games played)
- Winner - Jacob; Runners up - Tommy, Neil.
Jacob topped the FFL with an astonishing 3 / game, Tommy 2nd with 2.2, and Neil 3rd with 2.1
Most Fumbles - Winner - Neil; Runner up - Peter, Maciej.

Dropping the ball after making a catch is super ugly, and Neil's inability (or the simple 'not wanting to') to hold on after some easy tosses was scary.
Most Painful Moment - Winner - Neil/Maciej; Runners up - Patrick, Peter.

Who could forget the April 2nd debacle initiated by Maciej and felt entirely by Neil.  Maciej, who upon handing the ball off to Neil, fell into a state of glee.  He saw a basketball.  He kicked it.  Ball hit Neil.  Neil went flying.  Neil was hurt.  Neil was mad.  Maciej was 'run'.  Honorable mentions go to Patrick for his catch over the skateboard, and Peter running blindly into a fence.
The Whiney McWhine Award - Winners - Jacob; Runners up - James, Graham.

Who could take the 'unhappy player' mantle from James?  The Lieutenant of Lard, that's who.  Throughout the season, he complained about the ball, the field, the team selection, the passes he received from quarterbacks, the tough defence, and the taunts.  A true whiner.
Most Interesting Choice of Fashion - Winner - Peter; Runners up - Patrick, Neil.

Despite the warmer weather, Peter continued to bless the FFL with the blue winter jacket of much lore.  A classic, if there ever was one.  Honorable mentions go to Patrick for wearing a No Frills water-proof bag over his cast, and Neil for that white baseball cap that has seen better days.
Top Catching Percentage - Winner - Jordan T.; Runners up - Dylan, Jordan.

Awarded to the player with the highest percentage of catches, Jordan T. takes the mantle.  If you threw it in the general direction of Jordan T., he caught it, either through a dive, off a defender, low at his feet, or behind his back.  In any case, he just made the impossible possible, as was highlighted in the FFL promo video.
Most Consistent Player - Winner - Jordan; Runners up - Neil, Patrick.

Jordan, in all of his 20 games, never had a bad stretch of games.  Rather, he stayed constant in his ratings and statistics.  Opponents knew what to expect, as did his teammates.
Most Balls - Winner - Patrick; Runners up - Peter, Alex

Pat played with a broken bone in his foot for a quarter of the season.  Enough said.  Honorable mentions go to Peter's cement falls and subsequent injuries, and Alex for his traffalex ways.
Hey, you isn't guy! Award - Winner - Sierra; Runners up - Chloe, Danielle.

Fewer games played by ladies than in any other prior FFL season, and there were no real super contributors a la Danielle in years passed.  With Danielle on the sidelines, the award goes to Sierra, who played about as consistently as one can expect.  Finished with 1 touchdown in 5 games, with a 0.3 touchdowns per game average and 0 mahoneys.
The Triple M Award - Winner - Jordan; Runners up - Peter, Maciej/Patrick.

This awarded is given for the most memorable moment, and although all 3 of the aforementioned were great, Jordan showing his poppins on camera was beyond belief.  Once placed on facebook, it gave a whole new meaning to the term, "tagged your ass."  Honorable mentions go to Peter for his blind running into a fence and Maciej and Patrick introducing the concept of 'tape recorded' FFL gameage.
