Game Recap - FHL - April 23, 2008

Participants -
Players -
Team 1 - Josh, Ben, Maciej, Taylor
Team 2 - Jordan D., Robbie, James, Ezra
Team 3 - Jordan T., Alex Jarzy., Neil, Peter
Goalies - Patrick, Matthew C.
Played at - Gareena, home of the fucking dirt pile.
Offensive Player of the Game - Jordan T. - Kept up the pressure.
Defensive Player of the Game - Peter - cleared out the front of the net.
Best Shotblock/Save - Impressive kick save from Patrick, through a literal maze of defenders and offensive players.
Best Goal - Maciej, wiring in a one timer from the point after being set up beautifully by water-bug Josh.
Best Goalkeeper - Patrick over Matthew C.  Both played well, but Pat had that little something something that allowed his team to win most of the games.
Best Deke - Maciej, a flip around backhander that had Jordan T. counting Romanian sheep all day long.
Best Pass
- Robbie, wicked flip pass to a streakin' James who fired a backhand wide.
Biggest 'Robbie' - Josh, on the doorstep, firing across the crease and against the post.  Much to the shagrin of Jordan D's team, who had been sitting out during the 15 minute game.
Biggest 'Neil' - Robbie, under the fence that has made Neil a household name.  Or at least a league-wide name.
Best Fashion Sense - Robbie - lookin' sharp in general.  Like a thumbtack in a broken glass shop.
Worst Fashion Sense
- Matthew C. - he's done better things in a closet with the shower running.
The James Moment
- The fucking dirt pile that someone put in one side of the rink.  Thanks to some great shoveling by Maciej and Tingle, the pile was reduced in size and the game went on.  But who the hell puts a dirt pile in a freakin' hockey rink?
Ratings
(4 lowest, 10 highest) -
Jordan - 5.5; Mentally, he was already in Switzerland and it showed.
Patrick - 9; Good goaltending, as is becoming the norm for him.
Maciej - 8; Defensively aware.  Turned defence into offence in a matter of seconds.
Taylor - 5; Struggled to put stick on ball in front of the net.  Too many missed opportunities.
James - 5; Those soft hands of his have become harder than the oldest rock.
Neil - 8; Stood out defensively, and continues his scoring streak.  It's now at 3 games and counting.
Jordan T. - 9; Kept firing in the shots.  Great passing and vision.
Robbie - 5; Another underachiever on Jordan D's squad.  His once potent shot has all but disappeared.
Alex Jarzy - 8.5; Great chemistry with Tingle.  Great debut.
Matthew C. - 8.5; Stepped up near the end.  A big money goaltender, if there ever was one.
Peter - 9; Kept James out of the scoring areas.  Pinched in from the point well.
Josh - 8; Elusive as always.  Impressive passing.
Ben - 8; Provided good defence.  Some excellent plays down the flank.
Ezra - 8; The best of a bad bunch.  Chipped in with a few world class goals when it mattered.
