| Teams: Jordan D., Patrick, Matthew S., Jordan T., and Robbie vs. Tommy, Maciej, Neil, Graham and Alex. Score: A 15-13 win for Jordan's sky blue squad. Game Rating (out of 10): 7 - Where was the defence? Notable absentees: Jacob (getting tired of his lame excuses), Peter, Ezra. Offensive Player of the Game: Alex. 7 interceptions not enough to win. Defensive Player of the Game: Maciej. The best of a very very sad bunch. Special Teams Player of the Game: Jordan T. Exploited loose seams. Pitch and Weather: Warmer than days of most, with the upcoming Friday looking to be a bitch of a winter-type forecast. Pitch was dry for the first time in nearly half a year. Summary: All offence, no defence. Passes were thrown, catches were made, defenders were made to look incredibly foolish. The Jordanian squad kept plugging away at the Tom's grass greens until a costly fumble by Maciej on a lateral cost his squad the option of trading points. From then on, it was all about making it respectable. The game ended when Maciej tossed a short pass to a wide open Graham, who ran in his touchdown, and the universe fell back into balance. In between, a ball was "returned" by a neighbor, Jordan D. played the worst man-to-man coverage ever, Patrick lost his balance, Tommy produced the finest Hand of Tom ever seen, and Graham wore retro red sneakers, proclaiming, "Don't you wish your shoes were red like mine?" Bogus Moment of the Day - Neil. Handoff. Maciej. Kick. Basketball. A terrible fall. You had to be there. Player Ratings (out of 10, 4 being the lowest): Robbie - 6; Had some flashes, but scored mostly when his defender was out of sight. Jordan D. - 9; Defensively a zero, offensively a hero. Effortless execution. Patrick - 8; Another day, another chalk up of points. Flies under the radar nowadays. Maciej - 7; Spread the offence beautifully on his way to 11 passing touchdowns. Matthew S. - 7; Limited time, but impressed with his agility nonetheless. Tommy - 8; Some of the nicest defensive breakups ever. Recovered after shaky start. Alex D. - 10; You'd think 7 touchdowns would get net you a win? Not today. Man of the Match. Graham - 6.5; Mahoney'd once, but shook it off with a couple of impressive runs. Jordan T. - 9; Started off brilliantly. Makes the impossible catch possible. Neil - 8.5; Fought through adversity (and that fall) to get some awesome numbers. |
