Teams: Jacob, Maciej, Tommy, Alex D. and James vs. Robbie, Patrick, Graham, Owen, Johnny, and Peter. Score: A 9-8 win for Jake's tree-ish browns. Game Rating (out of 10): 8- Mahoney heaven, with a sprinkle of goodness. Notable absentees: Matthew Soegtrop, David, Lenny, Danielle. Offensive Player of the Game: Alex D.. 3 TDs plus one incredible catch. Defensive Player of the Game: Jacob. Outstanding coverage. Special Teams Player of the Game: Johnny. A kickoff legend. Pitch and Weather: Warmer than it's been in an eon. Even lazy people, like girls for example, managed to stay out longer before going home and having the usual cake and maxi pad socials. That black sprinkler thing is sticking out of the ground more than a whales...nevermind. Owen suggested we pick up the dirt that Alex D. kicked up and throw it at an unnamed teacher. Touche, Owen. Touche-fucking-a. Summary: The Jar Jar bet was on again, and like on the 6th, the lanky douche from Naboo remains on the travesty list. Peter led his navy blue squad early on, highlighted by a superb diving catch that he somehow snagged. This, amongst other plays, led to Alex remarking, "You try too hard." Blunt, but true nonetheless. The tree-browns were led by an overall strong performance on all ends of the field, with everyone on the squad getting at least 2 TDs. Alex led with 3, whilst the rest added two each. The blues were on short of a corkwack on this night however; they simply couldn't catch a ball. Johnny for one, despite being a monster on special teams, sucked fat sack in terms of catching. Robbie, pouting like a girl with her dress in a water balloon contest, complained of a lack of effort from his corps, and for once, he was spot on. Lazy buggers. Bogus Moment of the Day - Johnny's spider like run for his first of two kickoff touchdowns. Looks like he's about to fall and create a human made crater, but every time manages to stay on his feet and find an opening. Player Ratings (out of 10, 4 being the lowest):
Robbie - 7; A few wayward passes here and there, but a generally strong showing from Robster. Had he a vagina, I'd call him Rabina, but beggars can't be choosers. Had a lack of a service from his corps, as they mahoney'd more than Branko on a hot summer day. 5 PTDs. Jacob - 8; 2 TDs and several key defensive stops. Just another day at the office for Jake, a true warrior, but one with a big mouth and poor SW knowledge. Nevertheless, played very well. Patrick - 6.5; Had that 1 early TD and managed to slip past his brother a few times but couldn't complete a few key catches. Mahoney'd a few times, but you can't shake your sack about it. Maciej - 6; Pretty good. Pr'ood in other words. Or a gretty performance if you so choose. Johnny - 6.5; A kickoff specialist in his own right, but was rusty on the offensive end. A few defensive mishaps, but was generally solid on that end. Needs more gametime. 2 KTDs. Peter - 7; Started off strong but faded down the stretch, especially on the offensive side. Wants that Gungan off the list, but failed for the second time in a row. Cry me a gungan river. Tommy - 8; Excellent offense on the day, 2 TDs. Shut down Johnny reasonably well on defence too, keeping his fellow Mace Windu fan off the scoresheet. Tripped Maciej on one play for some reason. Alex D. - 8.5; Back to back classy games from Alex D. 3 TDs on the day, including a grab that he snagged by reaching behind him, flipping the ball into the air ahead of him and catching it right on the out of bounds sideline. We are not worthy indeed. Graham - 7.5; Rob's go-to guy on the day and did reasonably well. Continues to mahoney but wasn't as bad as his teammates on the day. Deceptive twirls were mistimed today. Lots of catches. Owen - 5; Had one ball thrown his way. That ball was a catch. It was a TD. Not a bad percentage if you ask me and pretty much any mathe-magician out there. Perenially offside. James - 7; Managed 2 TDs, but gave up sight when he put on Mac's energy glasses. Have to admit though, with glasses on, he looks like he could hit the ass of any chick this side of the hemisphere. |
