FHL Recap - Thurs., April 25th, 2006

Participants - David, Patrick, Alex D., Jesse, Tommy, Jacob, Robbie, Maciej and Graham.
Offensive Player of the Game - Robbie; Corporal Anglestand at his finest.  Stood in that one corner and waited for opps.  And finished them.
Defensive Player of the Game - David; Threw both Patrick and Maciej out of the rink, making it a familial clean sweep of sorts.
Played at: Fareena.
Best Shotblock - Alex D., who stoned Maciej's one timer with a swift left foot, worthy of Darren Puppa.
Best Goal - Jesse, the debutant, wormed his way on his blades past three defenders before it firing it topshelf.  Class-fookin'-ee.
Best Goalkeeper - Alex D. was worthy of a minor-bantam-pee-wee Johnson call up after this display.  Superlative!
Best Deke - Maciej's deke around David, side stepping a potentially nasty hip check in the process, showed the FHL remnants how much of a "skill" this guy remains.
Best Pass
- Maciej again, this time firing over a neat pass over to Alex D., who left alone did nay a thing but give it a tap-tap-tap in.
Biggest Whiff - Robbie, who despite his goalscoring prowess, fired one of his shots 323 feet above the crossbar.  That's our Robbie!
Best Fashion Sense
- David, black shirt looking snazzy and junk.
Worst Fashion Sens
e - Maciej, who has only one decent sweatshirt.
Bogus Moment
- Alex D.'s lack of defence.  The poor guy made save after save whilst Graham thought of fellow douchebags, Robbie stood entrenched in his favourite nook in the rink and Tommy swiped at passing gnats.  There was only so much he could do before (5 saves, point blank by my count) before getting beaten by a dilligent Jake.
Notable Watchers - Danielle et al.  The former FHL star looks to be a spectator, for reasons unknown.
Ratings (4 lowest, 10 highest) -
Tommy - 7; Fought hard in the corners, but had nay a few goals.
Alex D. - 9.5; Great keepin' combined with a generally solid display on all ends.  Problem was his fashion sense; enough with the sweatshirt, k?
Maciej - 9; Pushed his body to the limit and caught a cold soon after.
Patrick - 7.5; Fantastic deke on the boards.  Decent passing, and decision making solid, but needs to pinch a bit more from the point to score.
Jesse - 10; Best.  Debut.  Ever.  On blades and still ran up the points.
Jacob - 7.5; Not bad, but injuries starting to pile up.  Plays with reckless abandon and that may cost him a liver or two in the future.
David - 7; Swung his stick mightily close to Graham's head at one point.  Threw some serious hipchecks.  Decent looking shot at times.
Graham - 5; Played defence about as often as the Leafs win Stanley Cups.
Robbie - 9; Good show by the Corporal.  Showed good hustle on the boards and had a keen passing eye.  Gargonflack shooting.
