2006-2007 FHL Awards
Awards (Continued)
'Schoolies Award' - Winner - Jordan; Runners up - Josh, Maciej.

The FHL, more than ever before, has puck handling wizards galore.  This years winner, Jordan, proved that man can fly...but in the form of a medium sized Italian with a hockey stick.  Incredible moves, both inside and out.
Best Shot - Winner - Josh; Runners up - Jordan, Matthew C.

The perfect combination of speed and accuracy is found in Josh's shot.  Rarely does he miss a point blank shot.  Is able to shoot on the fly, or from standstill, with equal speed and accuracy.  Terrorize defences and goaltenders.
Best Passer - Winner - Matthew C.; Runners up - Maciej, Jordan.

They don't call him the Ponch of Pass just for the hell of it.  Great vision.  Great hands.  Splits defences apart on a regular basis.  Great technique, always.
Fastest Player - Winner - Neil.; Runners up - Josh, Jacob.

Ever seen a Mach 2 jet fly low enough to touch?  Come watch an FHL game.  Rapes the ground on his way to pick up a loose ball or a wayward defender.
Most Penalized Player - Winner - Jacob; Runners up - Jordan, Peter.

5 games, 100 PIM.  That's pretty bad to be honest.  And to clarify, this year's Jacob was actually calmer and less hyper than the previous season.  Reckless abandon leads to a lot of falls.
The Wolverine Award - Winner - Peter; Runners up - Patrick, Neil.

The Wolverine Award, awarded to the player(s) who best exemplify (ies) taking a beating and walking it off, is a clearcut win for Peter.  The guy takes high sticks to the midsection, face, neck, arms and shins and still gets up with a well-timed smile.
The 'Jega' Award - Winner - Peter; Runners up - Tommy, Neil.

The "Jega" Award is awarded to the player who best exemplifies the hacking principles that are so crucial to the FHL.  Peter, with wild stabs at loose balls, broke more cement and bone than anyone had previously thought possible.
The Jim Carrey Trophy - Winner - Tommy; Runners up - Jordan, Taylor.

This award is presented to the player who makes the most blunders, either with intention or not.  Tommy, struggling with the 'leafy-ness' of the Gareena arena, threw balls up the middle, fired no look passes to opponents and missed wide open shots with shocking regularity.  A goofy season for the perennial FHL star.
The Dylan Leetch Award - Winner - Jordan; Runners up - James, Jacob.

Jordan takes the Dylan Leetch Award, awarded to the player who exemplifies a knack for pissing people off.  Because of his speed, or lack thereof, Jordan had a tendency to hook and grab onto people more often than not.  And to no one's surprise, he was called out on it on several occasions.  Feigned innocence like a typical Italian too.
Most Ridiculous Hockey Stick Award - Winner - Peter Runners up - Jordan, James.

As the seasons have progressed, so have the quality of sticks.  That said, some not to beautiful remain in action.  The winner this year is Peter's stick, which despite foot, ball and pad penetration, failed to snap in half until the season was nearly done.  It was literally hanging on by a thread, much like Robbie's credibility after going to camp at the age of 15.
Clutch Player Award - Winner - James; Runners up - Ezra, Patrick.

This award, given to the player who steps up to the plate when the game is on the line, goes to James.  James, who was a goaltending revelation, made the exemplary save when it mattered, to keep his team in the game or in the lead.  Penchant for the spectacular all season long.
Best Fashion Sense - Winner - Maciej; Runners up - Matthew C., Tommy.

Never before has there been such a fashion guru in the FFL in one season.  Seriously, Maciej sets benchmark fashion goals that probably won't be broken.   The Wayne Gretzky of threads.  The Michael Jordan of Hats.  The Pinball Clemons of Jockstraps.  The Barry Bonds of tee-shirts.  A fashion beast.
