Bad breeders and some bad owners have given the breed a reputation as Yappy, nippy, rats on leashes. But a good breed chihuahua that is well socialized is none of these. They like other dogs will bark at strangers and strange dogs. But not every piece of grass, sound, wind..... ect.
Chihuaha's are long lived. About 12 years with a few claiming to live into thier 20's. But do have a few health problems. Dislocated knee caps and shoulders, baby teeth not falling out properly, and hypoglycemia, just to name a few. The open Molera, a small hole in your puppies head, may or may not close itself. This is not a defect but the norm for the breed.
House breaking.... well little dogs have to go alot more often. You may want to consider litter box training. Especially for the littliest of chi's. After all what 3 - 5 inch dog wants to relieve himself in a 4 foot snow drift?
