INTRODUCTION

I am planning a GURPS campaign set in the british Royal Navy at the beginning of the Nineteenth century. This is a spectacular time for adventuring, at the height of the Age of Sail. Mostly I intend to use the rules from GURPS Swashbuckler, but there are a lot of things aroud 1790-1815 that aren't covered well there (by choice). If you have any ideas or comments on what I have here, feel free to send them to me at [email protected] Alternatively, if you think you would like to help out with the development, you may want to join the mailing list at eGroups to discuss this work.

About the Author

Currently, there is only a single author for this work, though that situation may change in the future.

Michael Dowling - [email protected] - is an IT consultant, working in various fields including Lotus Domino / Notes Administration and Development. He has been playing and GMing role-playing games since approaching a group of fellow High School students who seemed to be enjoying themselves in the library sometime around 1982. He has used many and varied systems over the years, both table-top and live, and has found GURPS to be possibly the most versatile of them all. Michael is also a keen student of history, though never in an academic program. His interest in history ranges from Stone Age to Classical to Dark Age to Medieval to Renaissance to Napoleonic to Industrial Age to Modern, with many pockets of interest along the way.
