The Police Scouter Group has continued to provide Scouts Australia, SA Branch and Guides SA with general security and traffic management over the last 12 months.

Police Scouters have been involved in the following events for the scouts: SandBlast, Comedy Capers, Act of Loyalty, Gang Show, Youth Team Challenge Activ8, Shakedown Camp at Woodhouse, and the 19th Australian Jamboree at Cataract park.

For the Guides, Police Scouters have assisted with the Edna Ayres Camp at Oakbank, Carry on Guides ane the Guides State Camp at Douglas Scrub.

A number of Police Scouters attended at the 19th Australian Jamboree at Cataract Park, Sydney.  At the Jamboree, South Australian Police Scouters were able to support their fellow Police Scouters in New South Wales, and gain valuable experience in providing a security service for such a large event.  Our members learnt from the Cataract security management team so that our management of the security at the next Adelaide Jamboree can be even more professional.

At the Act of Loyalty this year one of our members Anthony Luff received the Silver Arrowhead for service to Scouting.  I again congratulate Tony for receiving this award.

In October of 2000, our members attended at a social gathering at GTS Dolphin on the Port River.  This event gave members an opportunity to relax and canoe the river, the weekend was most enjoyable and I am sure we will have a similar weekend in the future.

During this year some of our Members have been busy conducting renovations to the hut at Woodhouse near the western gate (old JOTA hut).  This hut when complete will act as the Police Scouter headquarters during major camps at Woodhouse.  The Police Scouters will work closely with the Woodhouse management team to insure that the renovations to the hut are appropriate and a benefit to everyone.  Well done to Tony, Brett and others.

The Police Scouter Group has donated $200.00 to the Radio Activities Section for much needed radio equipment.  These funds were raised during the Crafers tunnel opening held last year.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those members of our group for the time and dedication that they have shown to the Police Scouter Group and therefore Scouts and Guides in ensuring that the youth of today are given every opportunity to succeed.

The Police Scouter Group will continue to provide a service to both Scouts and Guides in the future.  New members are certainly welcome.  We guarantee an interesting and enjoyable experience for anyone wanting to become involved.
