| The Boer Goat is a goat bred for it's meat. They are from South Africa. Most times they are white bodied with red heads, but there are also double colored specimens called "paints" and solid red and solid black. They are quite a gently goat and males can reach over 300 pounds when full grown. Folks have asked me, "Why do you have goats. They are very amusing to me. They are like bad little children, but not evil spirited. I can sit and watch the babies play by the hour. I find the goats have very distinct personalities.
