Review - Neon Genesis Evangelion .: ![]() Neon Genesis Evangelion: Rating: Animation [17/20] Story: In a word where some giant demonic creatures called ANGELS attack humanity, the only hope for humans to survive are three mechas called Evangelion. These giant robots possess an unlimited power that can only be controlled by some certain children. These teens gather in NERV headquarters and begin the critical battle. But what are the ANGELS and what will happen in the end? Shinji will have to battle against his will as he now helps his father that left his in the past. Rei is a strange person that does not speak a lot. Asuka has lost her mother and in her subconscious she will always cry about her life. The anime reaches theological and psychological subjects. The Ego of the characters gets revealed with the time but the fierce battles with the angels where they risk their life, destroy their personality. Animation: NGE is a bit old to be considered as great in animation. However, it stands out as it is considered the best anime ever. The battles between the Evangelions and Angels will stay within your heart and you will soon realize the symbolic meaning of it all. There is also a new "Remastered - Director's Cut" edition of the anime where the animation and the sound are digitally enhanced and there are some new scenes. Sound: Every song of this anime has its own soul. Almost all of theme have a classic genre basis and usually include violin. The soundtrack generally is one of the best. The voice acting could not be better. The characters are almost real, but this is also thanks to the gifted director and script writer, Hideaki Anno.
