Story: This anime is made by the producers of Neon Genesis Evangelion and that tells us a lot! Gainax made a miracle again, although it's weird (Even more than Evangelion). Concerning the story... there is not exactly a story. It begins with a weird girl hitting a boy with an electric guitar on its head. Then, a mecha comes out of his head. While the series continue, many other mechas come for an unknown reason out of his head which he fights using the first one that came out. How? The first mecha opens its mouth and eats him. Then he becomes its pilot, until he comes out like everything that goes into the mouth (I hope you understood this... ^^). It is absolutely crazy and it is said that this anime was what Gainax was keeping inside it. 

Animation: The animation made me crazy about this anime. Explosions, lights and lasers among with some 3d-like hand-drawn rotations make the result fascinating. The drawing style may remind you Evangelion.

Sound: Concerning the sound, the music by "The Pillows" is one of the greatest parts of the anime. It is also notable that Hideaki Anno is seiyuu (voice actor) of a character in FLCL.

General Critic: You may not understand much of it but it is great! It also is small so you will be able to finish it in some hours...
