A
Amaterasu (Light of Heaven)- a Ninjutsu technique exclusive to the Uchiha Clan, but more importantly, only available to members of the Uchiha Clan with the Mangekyou Sharingan (Kaleidoscope Copy Wheel Eyes), the total mastery of the Sharingan. The ninja creates a powerful black flame capable of burning through, at least, a thick wall of flesh. The nature of the fire is a mystery, as it does not appear to be of the average variety of Katon (fire type) Ninjutsu, and because it is never actually seen being performed, it cannot be said exactly what is required for the ninja to use it. However, between this technique and the Tsukiyomi (Grasping Moon), the ninja can easily become fatigued after using this in battle.

First used by either Uchiha Itachi in chapter one hundred and forty-eight.

Asshou (Pressure Palm)- a Taijutsu technique where the ninja drives their fist into their opponent while they are on the ground, crushing them and grinding them into the earth. With impressive strength, this technique could be quite devastating.

First performed by Jiroubou in chapter one hundred and ninety.

B
Baika no Jutsu (Multi-size Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja increases the size of their body exponentially, increasing their mass as well. Extended use burns more and more calories, which are converted into chakra, fatiguing the ninja until they appear to get skinnier, which is why they might be prone to constantly eating. This technique is usually followed by the Nikudan Sensha Taijutsu style, or "Meat Tank."

First performed by Akimichi Chouji in chapter fifty-five. His father, Akimichi Choumaru, uses it in chapter one hundred and thirty-seven. This technique is exclusive to the Akimichi Clan.

Bakuretsufuu (Exploding Seal)- a Fuuinjutsu (sealing technique) where a seal is placed upon a piece of paper, creating an effect upon the paper that causes an explosion. These seals can be made in the field, but are more commonly bought by or given to ninjas as equipment, like kunai and shuriken.

These seals can be used in a variety of manners. They can be tied to kunai so that a miss can become a hit in combat. They can be attached directly to an opponent, almost completely ensuring death, unless the ninja is fast enough to disarm the seal. Or, these seals can be set up in an open area to trap the enemy, as in the case of the Shouhekifuu (Barrier Seal).

The exploding seals are first seen in chapter forty-six, used by Oboro. Any ninja can use these seals, but it's possible that only higher ranking ninjas are experienced enough to create them.

Bakuretsu Koinu (Exploding Puppy)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja leaves a decoy of a puppy in place of their own ninja dog. This decoy resembles the dog in every way, but is loaded with kunai, which explode like a swarm into an opponent or group of opponents when the decoy is activated. Similar to the Bakuretsufuu (Exploding Seal) commonly used by ninjas.

First performed by Inuzuka Kiba in chapter two hundred and five.

Bakuretsu Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Exploding Shadow Clone Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja creates a suicidal Kage Bunshin (shadow clone). After creating it, the ninja can cause the clone to remotely detonate and explode in combat, taking anyone immediately surrounding it out. When used in close combat, without the enemy noticing, this technique can be quite deadly.

First performed by Uchiha Itachi in chapter one hundred and forty-two.

Biransei no Jutsu (Poison Gas Technique)- this Ninjutsu technique creates a cloud of poisonous gas that erupts from the ninja's mouth in a stream. The cloud clears a distance between the ninja and their enemy, as not to capture the ninja himself within its area of effect. Any enemy caught within its area of effect will succumb to the poison's effects.

First performed by Shizune in chapter one hundred and sixty-six.

Bunshin no Jutsu (Clone Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja using it creates one, or more, doppelgangers of their likeness. Everybody can see the clone, so this is not Genjutsu. But this clone cannot attack, and if attacked, it will vanish.

First performed by Uzumaki Naruto in chapter one, though not perfectly. Almost all ninjas can use this basic technique.

Byakugan (White Eyes)- an advanced bloodline technique belonging to Konoha's Hyuga Clan. The Byakugan allows its bearer to do a wide variety of things with their vision. It gives them perfect vision for one hundred meters straight, allowing them to see through obstacles as well. Or, instead of one hundred meters straight, the bearer can be granted three hundred and sixty degree vision for fifty meters in any direction, barring an almost unnoticeable blind spot behind their first thoracic vertebrae.

In addition to simple ocular tricks, the Byakugan also gifts their clan with the ability to see chakra in its rawest form, making most Ninjutsu and Genjutsu ineffective against its bearer. In addition to simply being able to see chakra, they allow sight to the hidden inner coil system of chakra veins and tenketsu (chakra holes) through which a person's chakra flows. With this sight, members of the Hyuga Clan are able to utilize Jyuken, the Gentle Fist Style. With this style of Taijutsu, they can attack their opponent's internal organs, and they are able to effectively cut off the flow of chakra through the human body by closing any or all of the three hundred and sixty-one tenketsu, incapacitating or even killing their opponent.

The Byakugan is first seen in chapter forty-one, used by Hyuga Neji. Hyuga Hinata, Hyuga Hizashi, Hyuga Hiashi, and Hyuga Hanabi can also use it. Only members of the Hyuga Clan are privilege to this ability.

C
Chakra Enjintou (Chakra Scalpel)- a Ninjutsu technique used, primarily, for field surgery. The ninja concentrates a powerful aura of chakra around their hand, creating a blade capable of tearing through muscles and arteries, or breaking bone, without actually breaking the skin of the person they're using it on. When used offensively, in combat, it is difficult to concentrate on the length and power of the scalpel, making it harder to successfully hit an enemy's arteries, ensuring a kill.

First performed by Kabuto in chapter one hundred and sixty-four. A medical ninja technique, Tsunade can also perform it.

Chidori/ Raikiri (One Thousand Birds/ Lightning Edge)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja using it grabs their wrist, and then collects enough chakra into their hand that it becomes visible to mere human eyes. With enough chakra collected into one focal point, that point becomes powerful enough to destroy an entire cliff side, and would easily decimate even a powerful opponent. The sound produced by focusing so much chakra sounds like a flock of birds, which is where it gets the name Chidori. Later, Gai explains to everyone that Kakashi used this attack to cut a bolt of lightning in half, which is where it gets the nickname Raikiri.

This is an assassination jutsu intended to be a swift and powerful finishing blow. The ninja's body must be tempered to attack at such speeds while focusing that much chakra into one point. Also, they must have a good eye to counter their opponent, as this technique is a head-on attack. That is why the only two known masters of this technique both have the Sharingan.

First performed by Hatake Kakashi in chapter thirty. He teaches the technique to Uchiha Sasuke, who first uses it in chapter one hundred and thirteen. Kakashi created this technique, and he and Sasuke are the only two ninjas who can use it.

Chifuuin (Earth Seal)- similar to the Tenfuuin (Heaven Seal), this Fuuinjutsu (sealing jutsu), placed upon the chest, gives the ninja increased power. Those powers have yet to be seen, but overuse of this seal apparently destroys the ninja’s body.

First seen in chapter one hundred and ninety-nine on Kimimaro.

Chiyute no Jutsu (Healing Hands Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja focuses chakra into the palms of their hands, creating a small ball of healing chakra. This chakra, when concentrated, can repair physical damage to another person. Depending on the degree of the wound, the ninja must concentrate more of their chakra to repair the damage. However, if the wound is too extensive, such as extensive damage to vital organs, this technique may not be able to help them.

First performed by Tsunade in chapter one hundred and sixty. A medical ninja technique. Shizune is later seen using it.

Choukaihou (Butterfly Release)- a Ninjutsu technique that only those of the Akimichi Clan can use. After taking the red Hourengan and increasing the ninja's power a hundredfold, the ninja converts all of their calories into pure chakra, which is visible around them in the form of beautiful butterfly wings. As they convert the last of their calories into chakra, the ninja loses an abundance of weight, becoming very slim.

They concentrate the enormous amount of chakra into the palm of their hand, which is quickly engulfed in swirling, patterned flames. Like the Chidori (One Thousand Birds), the ninja drives their fist into their enemy, crushing them with their increased strength and the weight of every last ounce of their chakra. Deadly to both the ninja and their opponent, this technique is most surely suicidal.

First performed by Akimichi Chouji in chapter one hundred and ninety. This technique is exclusive to the Akimichi Clan.

Chuusuusei Biribiri (Central Nervous System Electrical Shock)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja turns their chakra into an electrical pulse which is transmitted into an enemy's body by striking the base of their neck. The electrical impulse travels up their brain stem and disrupts the flow of electricity in the nervous system. The brain cannot work like this, thus all communication between the brain and body are confused, causing a person to move their arm when they should be moving their leg, and generally debilitating them. Only an unusually skilled ninja would be able to overcome such a handicap.

First performed by Tsunade in chapter one hundred and sixty-four

D
Daisan no Me (The Third Eye)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja uses sand to create an eye through which they can clearly see without fear of being seen. Perfect for spying or collecting information, or targeting an opponent while guarding them self with a wall-defense.

First performed by Gaara in chapter forty-two. Because his sand is unique, he may be the only ninja able to perform this technique.

Dappi no Hada (Skin Molting)- a Ninjutsu technique unique to Manda, king of the snake summoning. Manda leaves in his place a skin molting which looks exactly like him. After this, possibly with Kawarimi no Jutsu (Body Switch Technique), he can get clear of his skin before an attack without his enemy knowing, giving him the element of surprise.

First performed by Manda in chapter one hundred and seventy.

Dokusatsu no Tsume (Poison Claws)- a Taijutsu technique requiring the ninja to wear large, sharp metal gauntlets. They soak these clawed gauntlets in poison, so that even the shallowest wound inflicted upon an enemy could eventually kill them, should their wound go untreated.

First used by one of the Demon Brothers in chapter ten.

Doton: Doroku Gaeshi (Earth Type: Upside-down Mud Wall)- a Doton (earth type) Ninjutsu technique where the ninja digs into the ground beneath them and tears up a solid wall of dirt and rock. The shield of earth is held together by the ninja's chakra and is meant to take the driving force of a physical attack, or to block projectile weapons.

First performed by Jiroubou in chapter one hundred and eighty-nine.

Doton: Doryo Dango (Earth Type: Mud Dumpling)- a Doton (earth type) Ninjutsu technique requiring impressive Taijutsu. The ninja digs into the ground beneath then and tears out a large chunk of dirt and rock, holding it together with their chakra. Depending on their strength, they can hold any size ball of earth, and then throw it upon their enemy, crushing them.

First performed by Jiroubou in chapter one hundred and eight-eight.

Doton: Doryuuheki (Earth Type: Mudslide Barrier)- a Doton (earth type) Ninjutsu technique where the ninja "vomits" a wave of mud, which shoots out of their mouth and assumes the form of a solid wall in front of them, sturdy enough to dam a river of water, or stop the Suiryuudan no Jutsu (Water Dragon Missile Technique).

First performed by Sandaime in chapter one hundred and twenty.

Doton: Kekkai Doroutoumu (Earth Type: Destruction Mud Prison)- a Doton (earth type) Ninjutsu technique where the ninja plants their hands on the ground and creates a dome of pure dirt and rock around their enemy. The dome has a layer of chakra inside of it that keeps it together, so that any damage done to it or the ground, even, is instantly repaired, within certain limits, of course. The area farthest away from the ninja using this technique, however, is still quite weak as it has the least concentration of chakra to absorb the blows and repair the damage done by the enemy.

While in control of this clay prison, the ninja using this technique also draws out the chakra of their enemy or enemies, taking it for themselves, unlike the Sabaki no Genki (Energy Drain). In this manner, the ninja can keep this clay prison up almost indefinitely, making it a very incredible Ninjutsu.

First performed by Jiroubou in chapter one hundred and eighty-six.

Doton: Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu (Earth Type: Inner Decapitation Technique)- a Doton (earth type) Ninjutsu technique where the user hides underground to sneak below their opponent. Able to move underground freely, the ninja then grabs their opponent's legs and pulls them underground, burying them up to the neck.

First performed by Hatake Kakashi in chapter seven, this technique has not been seen again.

Doton: Tsuiga no Jutsu (Earth Type: Earth Tracking Fang Technique)- a Doton (earth type) Ninjutsu technique designed to incorporate the Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique) into a fast-paced tracking technique aiming to find, surprise, and incapacitate the enemy. The summoning ninja must have signed a contract with summoning dogs to perform this attack. They must then perform the Kuchiyose no Jutsu and summon said dogs, who will then burrow underground and track down their target, digging their teeth into them and weighing them down. This leaves the victim wide open to attack.

First performed by Hatake Kakashi in chapter twenty-nine.

Douteki Saitentei (Dynamic Air Marking)- a Ninjutsu technique that may only be effective to the Inuzuka Clan. The ninja's dog will spin through the air, urinating on various targets, which the ninja and their dog can then track by scent with their superior olfactory senses. In addition, the dog's urine burns anyone who comes into contact with it, making this not only a tracking technique, but also an offensive maneuver.

First performed by Akamaru in chapter one hundred and seventy-two. This technique is exclusive to the Inuzuka Clan.

E (n/a)
No Jutsus Available

F
Fukumaden no Koukyoukyoku (Symphony of Pandemonium)- a Ninjutsu technique that follows Kuchiyose no Jutsu: Mouhogosha (Summoning Technique: Blind Guardians). The summoner of the blind guardians begins playing an erratic melody, to which the guardians react by opening their sewn-shut mouths, spewing forth manifestations of pure chakra in the form of grotesque tentacles with many jaws gaping from it.

When these jaws attack the ninja’s enemy, they bite into them, leaving no marks or wounds at all. They feed off of the opponent’s physical energy, drawing that with each bite in an attempt to sate their primal hunger. And as these manifestations are of chakra, not flesh, no direct attack can be made against them. The only way to battle this technique is to assault the guardians, or the summoner them self.

First performed by Tayuya in chapter two hundred and seven.

Futagogakure no Jutsu (Hidden Twin Technique)- a highly unusual, possibly unique, Ninjutsu technique where twins share one body. Unlike conjoint twins, these twins can separate or appear to be just one being whenever they want, due to their ability to control their own bodies on a molecular level. The true power of this technique is that the twin within the base twin's body can separate any part of their body from any part of their twin's body, creating the illusion that the twin has attacked. Also, the subordinate twin can emerge and take the blunt of an enemy's attack, then recede into their twin's body, allowing the other to take over combat as if nothing had happened to them. An unfair advantage when their enemy assumes that they are in one-on-one combat.

First used by Sakon and Ukon in chapter two hundred and two.

Fuuinka Koui (Highest Rank Fire Sealing)- a Fuuinjutsu (sealing technique) that allows the ninja to seal fire into a scroll. The seals are written across a length of scroll with a circular seal of arrows in the middle, to which the fire is drawn and directed, finally sealed. The scroll is then rolled up and tied until it is needed again later.

First performed by Jiraiya in chapter one hundred and forty-eight.

Fuuja Houin (Evil Sealing Method)- a Fuuinjutsu (sealing technique) designed to keep Juin (cursed seals) controlled. Two circles are carved into the ground with kunai with the cursed victim sitting at its center. Ten kunai are then placed, assumedly with purposed, headfirst into the ground within the circles. Four lines of seal runes are then written, in the sealer's blood, across the ground like spokes with the victim at their focal point, the runes running across their body.

The ninja performing the Fuuja Houin then performs the appropriate seals and places their hand upon the Juin, drawing in the seal runes across the ground and the victims body, creating a circular barrier around the curse seal to restrict its usage and involuntary activation. However, the willpower of the cursed victim still plays as a factor in how well this seal holds up.

First performed by Hatake Kakashi in chapter sixty-nine.

Fuuton: Renkuudan (Wind Type: Steroid Blanks)- a Fuuton (wind type) Ninjutsu technique unique to the Shukaku. He collects chakra in his fist, summoning wind in a "blank round," and then pounds it into his stomach, directing the chakra through his stomach and out his mouth as powerful blasts of swirling wind embedded with incredible amounts of chakra that can clear whole stretches of forestry.

First performed by Shukaku in chapter one hundred and thirty-five.

G
Gamaguchi Shibari (Toad Mouth Bind)- a Ninjutsu technique, which is a variation of the Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique). The ninja must have a contract with the toads to perform this technique, as it summons not only the toad Iwagama (Rock Frog) from Myouki Mountain's Rock Inn, but places them, their enemy and allies, and their surroundings inside of the toad's esophagus.

While in Iwagama, the ninja who performed Kuchiyose has complete control and total awareness of everything. They can control the walls of flesh surrounding them to snare their opponent, or open small pockets of the toad's esophagus to allow people to pass in and out.

First performed by Jiraiya in chapter one hundred and forty-seven.

Gama no Tsurugi Kai (Toad's Blade Slash)- a Taijutsu technique involving swordplay on a grand scale, as this technique belongs to Gamabunta, the king of the toad summons. He unsheathes his giant sword and delivers a quick and powerful upward swing, capable of severing solid stone several meters thick.

First performed by Gamabunta in chapter one hundred and thirty-five.

Gama Yuendan (Toad Oil Cannon)- a Ninjutsu that only those who have signed a contract with the toads can use. The ninja must be able to summon Gamabunta, or possibly another large toad. The ninja sitting on the toad's head uses a Katon (fire type) Ninjutsu technique to create a stream of flames directed in front of the toad, who then spits a stream of oil, carrying the flames and making them larger. An extremely powerful Ninjutsu technique.

First performed by Jiraiya and Gamabunta in chapter one hundred and seventy.

Garouga (Double Wolf Fang)- a Taijutsu technique following the Soutourou (Double-headed Wolf). As a bestial two-headed wolf, the ninja and their dog drill into an opponent in the same manner as the Gatsuuga, except instead of focusing on strength and misdirection, the double-headed wolf focuses on speed, spinning so fast that their vision becomes useless. Because of this, the dog must use Douteki Saitentei (Dynamic Air Marking) before the Soutourou, marking their enemy to track them by scent. The wolf moves so fast that the shockwave from the spin slices their enemy, even without contacting them.

First performed by Inuzuka Kiba and Akamaru in chapter two hundred and three. This technique is exclusive to the Inuzuka Clan.

Gatsuuga (Double Piercing Fang)- a Taijutsu technique following the Juujin Bunshin (Beast Human Clone), where the ninja and their dog (assuming the form of its master) spin violently at their opponent from both sides, scratching and clawing at them, making normal defenses useless.

First performed by Inuzuka Kiba and Akamaru in chapter seventy-six. This technique is exclusive to the Inuzuka Clan.

Genjutsu (Illusion Technique)- the art of illusion. Genjutsu is used to create mass illusions or even hypnotize opponents. Seemingly useful, it isn't seen much throughout the series, which would lead one to believe that it either isn't as useful as Ninjutsu or Taijutsu, or that it's very difficult to master.

First performed by Hatake Kakashi in chapter six. A necessity for ninjas that can be used, in some way or another, by almost all.

Genjutsu Kai (Genjutsu Release)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja focuses their chakra and screams "kai," or "release." They can perform it on themselves or on others. It will effectively ward off most Genjutsu, unless extremely powerful or when used in conjunction with an advanced bloodline.

First performed by Hatake Kakashi, Maito Gai, Nara Shikamaru, and Haruno Sakura in chapter one hundred and fourteen. Most ninjas can use this technique.

Goguoufuuin (Five-part Seal)- a Fuuinjutsu (sealing technique) technique with an odd number of seals designed to negate an even numbered seal. Each of the five seals used in this jutsu reflects five elements: earth, wind, fire, water, and steel. Each individual seal forms on the ninja's fingertips and is marked upon their opponent in the form of dark flames. It restricts the victim's ability to control their chakra.

First performed by Orochimaru in chapter forty-nine.

Goguoukaiin (Five Part Unseal)- a Fuuinjutsu (sealing jutsu) designed to unseal the Goguoufuuin (Five Part Seal), and return the sealed victim to their normal level of chakra control.

First performed by Jiraiya in chapter ninety-one.

H
Hakkeshou: Kaiten (Hand of the Eight Divinations: Heavenly Spin)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja expels chakra from every one of their tenketsu, effectively pausing any attack moments before it would connect with them. Then, they spin their body like a top while continually expelling chakra from their body in a twisting sphere, launching their attacker or their attacker's weapons away, tearing apart any object within the sphere of the attack.

This is a very complicated technique because it requires expert control of chakra and a large amount of stamina to use. Typically, in battle, even a ninja at the level of Jounin is only able to expel chakra from a single part of their body while in heated combat. To use this technique and utilize every tenketsu at once is almost impossible.

First performed by Hyuga Neji in chapter one hundred and one. Hyuga Hiashi is later seen using it in chapter one hundred and thirty-seven. It is an extremely advanced jutsu that only members of the Hyuga Clan can use.

Hakkeshou: Rokujuu Yonshou (Hand of the Eight Divinations: Sixty-four Palms)- a Taijutsu technique utilizing the Byakugan (White Eyes) and the Jyuken (Gentle Fist). With the ability to see the inner coil system, the ninja performs a series of graceful movements while attacking sixty-four of the three hundred and sixty-one tenketsu. First, they attack two points, quickly followed by two more, then four more. Next, they attack eight more tenketsu, followed by sixteen more, and finishing the attack with the last thirty-two. With these sixty-four points sealed, the opponent's inner coil system is entirely shut down, causing incredible internal pain and effectively preventing them from using their chakra.

First performed by Hyuga Neji in chapter one hundred and one. It is an extremely advanced jutsu that only members of the Hyuga Clan can use.

Harem no Jutsu- the combination of two Ninjutsu techniques: Oiroke no Jutsu (Sexy Technique) and Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Shadow Clone Technique). Together, they create an army of beautiful naked women that can bring even the strongest perverted ninja to their knees.

First performed by Uzumaki Naruto in chapter two, this technique has not been seen again. Assumedly, any ninja who can use Kage Bunshin and Henge (Transformation) could perform it.

Harichakra (Chakra Needles)- a Ninjutsu technique requiring a ninja to be able to use Jyuken. The ninja creates small needles from the tenketsu upon their fingers that are able to slice through things made of chakra, which normally could not be broken.

First performed by Hyuga Neji in chapter one hundred and ninety-three.

Haridoku (Poison Needles)- a Taijutsu technique involving several chutes strapped along the ninja's arm, loaded with poison-tipped needles attached to strings. The strings are tied to the loaders in the back of the chutes that house the needles, which the ninja draws back in attack. Upon release, the loaders shoot forward, snapping the strings and firing the needles at the ninja's enemy.

First performed by Shizune in chapter one hundred and fifty-six.

Harisuzu (Bell Needles)- a Taijutsu technique where the attacker attaches bells to needles to mislead the enemy into reacting to sound instead of movement. In this way, one or many needles with bells can be thrown, quickly followed by regular needles that would catch the opponent off guard when they react to the sound.

Even if the bell needles miss, they cans till be used to mislead the enemy into reacting to sound by attaching strings to the bells, allowing the attacker to create the distraction of sound at any time during the fight, opening their opponent up for another attack.

First performed by Kin is chapter seventy-four.

Haritsuba (Spitting Needles)- a Taijutsu technique where the ninja spits needles out of their mouth. Attacking in this manner, while the enemy is normally focusing on your hands, provides a small element of surprise, but with much more effectiveness when used following a distraction.

First performed by Shizune in chapter one hundred and sixty-five.

Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique)- simple Ninjutsu that allows a ninja to change their physical appearance to match another person's or to take on the likeness of an object.

First performed by a miscellaneous Academy student in chapter one. Almost all ninjas can use this basic technique.

Hone no Tsurugi (Sword of Bone)- an advanced bloodline technique, this Ninjutsu technique allows the ninja to remove an extra bone, grown from their own frame, from their body, and use it as a blade in battle. The wound created by the growing blade heals almost instantly. As with the Koutetsu no Hone (Steel Bones), this bone sword is as strong as steel.

First performed by Kimimaro in chapter two hundred and six. This technique is an advanced bloodline technique, which only he, and other members of his unnamed clan, can use.

Houin Fuukoku (Dark Seal)- a Fuuinjutsu (sealing technique), which is the final step to the Shikokumujin (Four Seals of the Dark Mist). One of the ninjas creates seals on five pieces of paper using their own blood, and then throws them at the barrel needed for the barrier technique. Clasping their hands together, they speak the seal's name and the five papers become attached to the barrel's lid, keeping it secure. This seal may be permanent, only lasting until the first barrier is either broken or the transformation of the ninja inside is complete.

First performed by Sakon in chapter one hundred and eighty-four.

Houshou (Crushing Fist)- a Taijutsu technique where the ninja palm strikes their enemy, hurling them away. With impressive strength, this technique could be quite devastating.

First performed by Jiroubou in chapter one hundred and eighty-nine.

Hyuga Bunke Juinjutsu (Hyuga Branch House Curse Seal Technique)- a Juinjutsu (curse seal technique) performed by the Hyuga Main House on members of the Hyuga Branch House. This seal, which spans the width of their forehead, represents their eternal duty to protect the Main House. With but a simple hand seal, any member of the Main House can bring a Branch member to their knees.

The seal acts as a leash, of sorts. It applies incredible pain to the bearer's brain and optic nerves when activated by another Hyuga. But also, upon death, it will destroy the bearer's optic nerves, efficiently sealing the secrets of the Byakugan so that enemy ninjas cannot steal them.

First seen upon Hyuga Neji's forehead in chapter one hundred and two. All members of the Hyuga Branch House receive this seal while they are young.

I
Ichi no Hoshi (First Star)- a Taijutsu technique involving a giant fan and a strong arm. The fan has three purple dots on its full face, but this technique involves only the first dot, unfolding only one-third of the full fan. It is then swung, creating a small, quick gust of wind able to deflect shuriken and kunai or any other projectile weapons.

First performed by Temari in episode forty-three of the anime, presumably chapter seventy-three of the manga during her fight with Tenten. It is first truly seen in chapter one hundred and six.

Ichiren Yatsuzaki (Chain Dismemberment)- a Taijutsu technique involving at least two ninjas sharing one razor-sharp length of chain. The ninjas circle their opponent, winding the chain around their body, binding them where they stand. Next, the ninjas all pull in opposite directions, sawing through their opponent, dismembering them in a gruesome display of brutality.

First performed by the Demon Brothers in chapter nine.

Isshi Resshin (One-fingered Earthquake)- a Taijutsu technique that only the strongest ninjas can accomplish. With just one finger, the ninja can merely tap the ground and create an enormous split in the earth before them. Of course, with this strength, one finger could do more to the enemy directly, but this incorporates physical power and range into an attack.

First performed by Tsunade in chapter one hundred and fifty-nine.

J
Jouro Senbon (Raining Needles)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja throws one or many umbrellas lined with needles into the air. Once airborne, they use their chakra to control the umbrella's spinning, releasing the needles, and controlling the needles to find their targets. These needles, when propelled by chakra, have the strength to pierce five millimeters of sold steel.

First performed by Sigure of the Hidden Rain Village in chapter fifty-eight.

Juujin Bunshin (Beast Human Clone)- a Ninjutsu technique involving a dog as a ninja tool, and usually a soldier pill for each of them to momentarily increase their chakra. The dog leaps upon the ninja's back and assumes the form of a human, typically the ninja them self, as the ninja becomes more beast-like, as with the Shikakyu no Jutsu (Quadruped Technique).

First performed by Inuzuka Kiba and Akamaru in chapter seventy-six. This technique is exclusive to the Inuzuka Clan.

Jyuken (Gentle Fist)- this is the opposite of the Tekken (Iron Fist) Taijutsu style. The attacks are softer, more open palm, and cause damage by flowing chakra into the opponent's inner coil system of chakra veins and tenketsu (chakra holes). Attacking through the inner coil system allows them to cause damage to their opponent's internal organs, which nobody can train, as the chakra veins surround all the chakra producing organs, most notably the heart.

Also, by sealing the three hundred and sixty-one tenketsu in the human body, the ninja can cut off their opponent's ability to control their chakra, limiting their means to attack, and possibly even killing them.

First performed by Hyuga Neji and Hyuga Hinata in chapter seventy-nine. Only members of the Hyuga Clan can use this style, as one must have the Byakugan to see the inner coil system of the human body.

K
Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Shadow Clone Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique that allows the ninja to create a physical doppelganger of their likeness. Each clone's strength is directly related to how many other clones the ninja using this technique creates. So, if a ninja were to create one clone, it would have half of the ninja's total chakra. If they were to create two, they would each have one-third of the ninja's total chakra. Because of this, the ninja must be sure that a clone is needed, because with one hit, this shadow clone will be destroyed just as easily as a regular Bunshin (Clone).

First performed by Uzumaki Naruto in chapter one, this is a Jounin level skill learned from the First Hokage's Scroll of Seals. Other ninjas who can use this technique include Hatake Kakashi, Uchiha Itachi, Orochimaru, and Sandaime.

Kage Konoha Buyou (Shadow Leaf Dance)- a Taijutsu technique where the ninja delivers a simple, yet powerful, hand plant kick, which sends the opponent airborne, leaving them completely open to attack. This technique is then further carried out by becoming the victim's shadow, flying parallel below them. This makes them vulnerable to the more powerful and complex Lotus attacks, or any other series of combos.

First performed by Rock Lee in chapter thirty-seven. One of many techniques taught to him by Gai-sensei. Copied by Uchiha Sasuke and Hatake Kakashi.

Kage Kubishibari no Jutsu (Shadow Neckbind)- a Ninjutsu technique, which is a variation of the Kagemane no Jutsu (Shadow Copy Technique). The ninja uses Kagemane no Jutsu to trap their enemy and force them to perform the same movements. At this point, all of the rules of the Kagemane still apply. However, after the technique is secured, the attacking ninja can manipulate the shadows into becoming hands, which wrap around the neck of the enemy, strangling them, or even just breaking their neck.

First performed by Nara Shikato in chapter one hundred and thirty-seven. This technique is exclusive to the Nara Clan.

Kagemane no Jutsu (Shadow Copy Technique)- known in the old days as the Kageshibari no Jutsu (Shadow Freeze Technique), this is a Ninjutsu technique that allows the user to extend their shadow and connect with another person's, or many people's shadows. Once the connection is made, the ninja has around five minutes of control of their opponent's body. Every move they make, their opponent will reflect, and vice-versa. Unlike the Shintenshin no Jutsu (Mind Body Switch Technique), this jutsu does not harm the ninja using it when their opponent is harmed, unless they're harmed by an outside force and the movement made could hurt the user, such as an arm breaking or a quick neck jerk.

Also, this technique allows the ninja to manipulate their shadow in many ways, such as size and shape, allowing them to take control of more than one person, or follow the shadow of an object to find their target. In addition, this technique uses already existing shadows to extend the length of the ninja's shadow. The combined total area of any shadows they use in conjunction with their own will allow them to extend their shadow to any length, so long as it always equals the total area of the shadows they are using.

First performed by Nara Shikamaru in chapter fifty-five. His father, Nara Shikato, uses it in chapter one hundred and thirty-seven. This technique is exclusive to the Nara Clan.

Kage Shuriken no Jutsu (Shadow Shuriken no Jutsu)- a Taijutsu skill where the ninja throws two shuriken at once while hiding the second shuriken in the shadow of the first. In this way, when their opponent is distracted by the first shuriken, the odds of them not noticing the second are greater.

First performed by Uchiha Sasuke in chapter fourteen, with an assist from Uzumaki Naruto.

Kamaitachi (Slashing Wind)- a powerful Ninjutsu following the revelation of the San no Hoshi (Third Star). The ninja swings their large fan, creating a monstrous gust of wind, which is then imbedded with chakra to direct it at their opponent and increase its speed. They are caught within the swirling whirlwind of chakra, which is fast and powerful enough to lacerate their skin and cause much physical damage.

First performed by Temari in episode forty-three of the anime, presumably chapter seventy-three of the manga during her fight with Tenten. It is first truly seen in chapter one hundred and seven.

Kanashibari no Jutsu (Body Freeze Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja stares down their opponent, causing them to become completely frozen in their tracks. Perfect for escaping a dire situation, or for stalling a target in an assassination.

First performed by Orochimaru in chapter forty-nine. Anko and various Anbu can use this technique. One of Jiraiya's frogs used this technique in chapter one hundred and twenty-four.

Kansei no Deba (Knife Trap)- a Taijutsu technique where the ninja sets a trap in a wooded area using a rope and knives. The rope sets the trigger, probably tying down a sapling or net that is lined with knives. In battle, when the ninja gets their opponent cornered, they’ll throw a shuriken, severing the rope, and setting off the trap, hurling a load of knives at their enemy.

First performed by Uchiha Sasuke in chapter seven.

Kansei no Wana (Snare Trap)- a Taijutsu technique where the ninja sets a trap in a wooded area using a rope. The rope is attached to a sapling tree or a spry tree branch, at one end, and tied into a loop at the other, which is set in rough grass to disguise it. When the ninja’s enemy steps upon the snare, the settled grass will shift, and the snare will catch the enemy by their ankle, pull their legs out from underneath their bodies, leaving them to dangle by a tree branch.

First performed by Hatake Kakashi in chapter six.

Karuto no Tayori (Information Cards)- a one-of-a-kind Ninjutsu technique where the ninja takes simple, black deck cards and embeds information on them with chakra. The information could be about anything from shinobi countries to shinobi themselves. Once the information is embedded in the card, it turns blank, only to become visible again when the ninja reveals it with their chakra.

First performed by Yakushi Kabuto in chapter thirty-nine.

Kasui Nikudan Sensha (Spiked Meat Tank)- a Taijutsu technique incorporating the Baika no Jutsu (Multi-size no Jutsu) and a line of kunai wrapped around the ninja's body. Once the ninja's body has become massive, they tuck their arms, legs, and head into their body and become a lumbering ball of spiked meat, capable of tearing an opponent apart. In this state, they can control their speed, direction, and jump while keeping the momentum of a boulder-sized orb of flesh that can tear through practically any obstacle. It takes some skill to use this as the ninja becomes disoriented afterwards.

First performed by Akimichi Chouji in chapter one hundred and eighty-nine. This technique is exclusive to the Akimichi Clan.

Katateoichi Baika no Jutsu (Partial Multi-size Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique which is a variation of the Baika no Jutsu (Multi-size Technique). With this technique, the ninja increases the size of only one part of their body, such as their arm of leg, and then attacks their opponent with just that part, crushing them.

First performed by Akimichi Chouji in chapter one hundred and eighty-nine. This technique is exclusive to the Akimichi Clan.

Katon: Goukakyuu no Jutsu (Flame Type: Powerful Fireball Technique)- a Katon (flame type) Ninjutsu technique where the ninja inhales deeply and spouts a powerful stream of fire from their mouth. This burst of flames is powerful enough to burn away solid ground, and surely decimate any unprepared opponent in its path.

First performed by Uchiha Sasuke in chapter seven.

Katon: Housenka no Jutsu (Flame Type: Mythical Fire Flower Technique)- a Katon (flame type) Ninjutsu technique similar to the Goukakyuu no Jutsu (Powerful Fireball Technique). The ninja performs the hand seals and then raises their hand to their mouth, inhaling deeply, and then producing many flames at a time that fall like petals, which is where this technique gets its name from. Within the smaller, individual flames, the ninja can hide shuriken, insuring that damage is dealt whether the flames hold up or not.

First performed by Uchiha Sasuke in chapter forty-six.

Katon: Karyuu Endan (Flame Type: Fire Dragon Blast)- a Katon (flame type) Ninjutsu technique where the ninja inhales deeply, drawing in a full chest of air. They then exhale, producing a very wide stream of flames that approach their target as a huge wall.

First performed by Sandaime in chapter one hundred and twenty.

Katon: Ryuuka no Jutsu (Flame Type: Dragon Fire Technique)- a Katon (flame type) Ninjutsu technique where the ninja projects a straight stream of fire from their mouth that can follow a set path, such as a string when used in conjunction with the Kazaguruma no Sharingan: Sanjuuken (Sharingan Windmill: Triple Blade).

First performed by Uchiha Sasuke in chapter forty-nine.

Katsuyu Bunshin no Jutsu (Slug Oil Clone Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique unique to Katsuyu, the king of the slug summoning. Katsuyu splits itself into one or many smaller versions of itself, to either carry away a downed ally, avoid a devastating hit, or simply scatter. Each clone acts as a smaller version of the true Katsuyu and can return to him to reform his full body.

First performed by Katsuyu in chapter one hundred and seventy.

Kawarimi no Jutsu (Body Switch Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique used to replace the ninja's body with something nearby, like a log, or even another person, to take an attack in their place and confuse their opponent. Alternatively, the ninja may be able to replace them self with just air, which could explain the ease with which they can suddenly disappear and reappear somewhere else.

First performed by Hatake Kakashi in chapter five. It's likely that it is a typical ninja skill that isn't seen being used too often.

Kazaguruma no Sharingan: Sanjuuken (Sharingan Windmill: Triple Blade)- a Taijutsu technique utilizing the Sharingan's ability to see through the opponent's jutsu. This attack requires three blades, at least, to be thrown at the opponent from both of the ninja's hands, and the ninja's mouth. Strings attached to the blades allow for them to be further manipulated after the initial attack.

First performed by Uchiha Sasuke in chapter forty-nine. Only member of the Uchiha Clan, ninjas with the Sharingan, can use this technique.

Kekkai Konchuu Bunshin no Jutsu (Destruction Bug Clone Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique that requires the use of the destruction bugs, which are the parasites of the Aburame Clan, so this technique belongs solely to them. By commanding the bugs, the ninja demands that they assume the form of the ninja's body, changing their color to match the ninja's exact appearance. If this clone is attacked, the bugs scatter, ending the technique, but taking no real damage themselves.

First performed by Aburame Shino in chapter one hundred and twenty-six. This technique is exclusive to the Aburame Clan.

Kenkaze (Blade of Wind)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja creates a whirlwind blade around their opponent with their chakra. It slices through them easily, as it is said that nothing can stop a blade of wind.

First performed by Baki in chapter ninety-two.

Kirigakure no Jutsu (Hidden Mist Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique that covers the area surrounding the ninja using it completely in mist. Perfect for silent killing, since there's practically no visibility within the area of this jutsu.

First performed by Momochi Zabuza in chapter twelve.

Kishibari no Jutsu (Tree Bind Technique)- a Genjutsu technique where the ninja appears to vanish before their opponent's eyes, and then induces the idea that they have been caught and bound from behind by a large tree, which the ninja then emerges from for a swift kill.

First performed by Yuuhi Kurenai in chapter one hundred and forty-one. It is immediately countered and copied by Uchiha Itachi.

Kokuangyo no Jutsu (Bringer of Darkness Technique)- a Genjutsu technique that effectively blinds the enemy. Total darkness engulfs them, and they can see nothing but their own body. The ninja can freely attack their enemy in this state with no tremendous worry of a counter-attack, unless the enemy is extremely talented. If the ninja is caught while still using this technique, it is immediately dispelled.

First performed by Shodaime in chapter one hundred and twenty-two.

Kongou Nyoi (Diamond Staff)- a Ninjutsu technique, which is a variation of the Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique) where the ninja turns them self into a large staff. This staff, the mythical Nyoibo from the Saiyuki, is as hard as a diamond and can extend to whatever length the ninja wishes. Although it appears as a large, thick staff, it can slice through solid objects as easily as any blade. Also, in this form, the ninja can still see and hear everything that is going on as it can transform certain areas of the staff to resume the appearance of parts of their body.

First performed by Enma in chapter one hundred and twenty.

Konohagakure Furui Taijutsu Suukoujutsu: Itami no Sennen (Hidden Leaf Ancient Taijutsu Supreme Technique: 1,000 Years of Pain)- an end-all Taijutsu maneuver involving just the first two fingers of each hand extended together and then driven into the rectum of the ninja's opponent. Surprising and painful, this technique not only inflicts damage, but also thoroughly humiliates the ninja's opponent.

First performed by Hatake Kakashi in chapter five, Uzumaki Naruto later adopts it. Anyone with fingers and no morals can use this technique.

Konoha Gouriki Senpuu (Leaf Herculean Whirlwind)- a Taijutsu technique where the user spins with all of their strength and delivers a powerful spinning heel kick, blasting their opponent back.

First performed by Maito Gai in chapter one hundred and forty-three.

Konoha Reppuu (Leaf Violent Wind)- a Taijutsu technique the ninja uses their opponent's momentum against them by sweeping their legs out from under them with their arm. This is one in a series of Taijutsu techniques used in Rock Lee's combo fighting style.

First performed by Rock Lee in chapter thirty-seven. One of many techniques taught to him by Gai-sensei. Copied by Uchiha Sasuke and Hatake Kakashi.

Konoha Senpuu (Leaf Spinning Wind)- a Taijutsu technique where the ninja delivers a series of kicks with incredible speed that can pierce an iron defense, making blocking almost obsolete. This is one in a series of Taijutsu techniques used in Rock Lee's combo fighting style.

First performed by Rock Lee in chapter thirty-seven. One of many techniques taught to him by Gai-sensei. Copied by Uchiha Sasuke and Hatake Kakashi.

Kontserun Henge no Jutsu (Combined Transformation Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique where two or more people can use the average Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique) together, making two people to appear as one person, possibly by riding "piggyback." The technique is broken when one of the ninjas breaks their connection.

First performed by Sakon, Tayuya, Kidoumaru, and Jiroubou in chapter one hundred and fifteen. Later, in chapter one hundred and thirty-five, it is used by Naruto, Gamabunta, and Gamakichi.

Koutetsu no Hone (Steel Bones)- an advanced bloodline technique, this Ninjutsu technique allows the ninja to force their own bones to grow out of their frame, becoming blades, stronger than steel, that can protrude from any part of their body. With several of these bones extended from the ninja’s body, their Taijutsu becomes much more powerful.

First performed by Kimimaro in chapter two hundred and one. This technique is an advanced bloodline technique, which only he, and other members of his unnamed clan, can use.

Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique)- having signed a contract in blood, any ninja with this Ninjutsu technique can summon a beast, or beasts, from another plane of existence to use in battle. They must use their own blood as a "sacrifice" to summon them, after performing the hand seals corresponding with their animal and marking their point of summoning on the ground with both hands. Animals range from the famous Japanese Triad of the Toad, Snake, and Snail/Slug, to dogs, spiders, turtles, monkeys, and probably many more.

Also, each summoning race may have their own "king" to summon. For instance, the toads have Gamabunta, the snakes have Manda, and the slugs have Katsuyu. There is also a possibility that some beings are unique to summon. For instance, Sandaime summons Enma the Monkey King, and then the God of Death itself, while Orochimaru has succeeded in summoning the dead.

There are many variations to the Kuchiyose, some of which include the substitution of a life as a blood sacrifice, or even no sacrifice or hand seals at all. Not all things summoned are animals. People and items can be summoned. For instance, Sakon and Ukon's Rashoumon. Also, beings and items that exist in the ninja's world can be summoned through the use of a scroll. Naruto and Sakura summon Iruka through the Heaven and Earth scrolls during the second test of the Chuunin Exam. And Sakon summons a barrel for the barrier jutsu used to upgrade Sasuke's seal. So, it is very likely that we have yet to see the full range of the Kuchiyose no Jutsu.

First performed by Hatake Kakashi in chapter twenty-nine. The Sannin (Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Tsunade) can all summon, as can Sandaime and Yondaime, Uzumaki Naruto, Maito Gai, Mitarashi Anko, Yakushi Kabuto, Kidoumaru, Tayuya, Sakon and Ukon, and any other ninja who has signed a contract in blood with any summoning race.

Kuchiyose no Jutsu: Edo Tensei (Summoning Technique: Impure World Resurrection)- a forbidden Ninjutsu technique (Kinjutsu), which is a variation of the Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique). Unlike the Kuchiyose, no contract is required with this technique, because instead of summoning a living being into our world, this jutsu summons the dead. To summon the dead, instead of the user signing a contract and sacrificing their blood, they must prepare a living person as a sacrifice, whose body will become the vessel of the summoned deceased's soul. The living sacrifice then has the dust and ashes of the deceased scattered around them. After that, the sacrifice's body will take on the physical and mental characteristics of the summoned, meaning that they will appear as they did up until the moment of their death, and will remember everything from their past, including any techniques that they possessed in life. All of this is prepared long before the technique's use in battle.

When the summoner is finally ready to use this technique in combat, the prepared body is summoned within a wooden coffin that rises up from the ground. Fully animated, the dead body frees itself. At this point, though, it is nothing more than a walking corpse. It is then that the summoner implants a fuda, an amulet designed to bring the summoned's vitality back, and also to degenerate them to nothing more than a slave of the summoner's will. This fuda is commonly seen as a shuriken with a seal tied to its end, which is then driven deep into the skull of the summoned being. Along with vitality and blood-thirst, the fuda may play a part in the ability of the summoned's body to regenerate quickly. After all of this, the summoned being is as powerful as they were before their death, and is battle-ready. They remain in this world until they are claimed by death once again, at which point they crumble to dust, returning to the physical forms of the sacrificed.

First performed by Orochimaru in chapter one hundred and seventeen.

Kuchiyose no Jutsu: Mouhogosha (Summoning Technique: Blind Guardians)- a variation of the Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique), this technique summons one, or many, blind guardians with bandages wrapped around their eyes and faces, who will protect their summoner so long as they are directed. And the way that they are directed is what is unique about this technique. The ninja plays a melody on a flute to communicate with the blind guardians, as they cannot see on their own. A very odd Ninjutsu technique.

First performed by Tayuya in chapter two hundred and two.

Kuchiyose no Jutsu: Rashoumon (Summoning Technique: Rashoumon)- a Ninjutsu technique, which is a variation of the Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique). Instead of summoning a being of flesh and blood, this technique summons Rashoumon, a large, impenetrable gate with the face of a demon on it.

Taken from one of the stories of the demon-hunter, Raiko. While in Kyoto, he and his five retainers heard tale of an oni that lived inside the great gate Rashoumon, the southern gate on the main road through Kyoto. One of his retainers, Watanabe, volunteers to see if this is true, and if so, slay the oni and hang a talisman with all of their names on the gate's handle. Sure enough, he encounters an oni there, but only succeeds in severing one of its arms and driving it off.

First performed by Sakon and Ukon, who both summon one half of the gate.

Kugutsu no Jutsu (Puppet Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique where the puppet master controls a karasu, or puppet, with threads of chakra from their fingertips. The karasu can be manipulated to look like someone else or the puppet master them self, allowing them to wear down and mislead their opponent until an opening presents itself. Not that the karasu itself isn't a formidable opponent. With double-joints and hidden weapons (such as poised daggers and gas bombs), not to mention detachable limbs, the puppet itself should be considered quite deadly.

Also, it seems that the karasu and its master share a bond of some kind, as the karasu can relay information to the ninja controlling it. It can stand substitute for somebody and collect information and then allow the controlling ninja to listen to or view it later on.

First performed by Kankuro in chapter thirty-four. He is the only ninja seen with a karasu.

Kuikorosu Chakra Samehada (Chakra Devouring Sharkskin)- a Ninjutsu technique involving swordplay. The Samehada, a large sword with a blade made of rough shark skin, is swung into an attack, or into a gathering of focused chakra, which it then absorbs into itself, disrupting the enemy's technique and draining them of their released chakra.

First performed by Kisame in chapter one hundred and forty-six.

Kumokakuhan (Spider Whip)- a Ninjutsu technique that allows the ninja to create a sticky webbing out chakra by mixing it with their spit, which then comes out of their mouth. The projectile webbing attaches to the ninja's enemy, binding them, allowing the ninja to whip them around by controlling the speed and arc of the spider web.

First performed by Kidoumaru in chapter one hundred and seventy-eight.

Kumo Kousatsu (Spider Hang)- a Taijutsu style unique to Kidoumaru, as he is, apparently, the only ninja who can secrete chakra webbing from his mouth. He creates six strings, which he hangs from trees or any available beams, and then hangs from them, giving him maneuverability and speed in aerial combat.

First performed by Kidoumaru in chapter one hundred and ninety-one.

Kumonenkin (Golden Spider Spikes)- a Ninjutsu technique that allows the ninja to create a sticky webbing out of chakra by mixing it with their spit, which then comes out of their mouth. The ninja fashions this webbing into many solid, golden, barbed spikes, which they can then throw at their opponent like kunai. Alternatively, the ninja can also fire this hardened webbing from their mouth like a spear.

First performed by Kidoumaru in chapter one hundred and ninety-two.

Kumoshibari (Spider Bind)- a Ninjutsu technique that allows the ninja to create a sticky webbing out of chakra by mixing it with their spit, which then comes out of their mouth. They then fashion the sticky chakra into a large web, which they hurl at their opponent, or many opponents, to trap them as either an offensive or escape plan. The webbing can be made thick enough that it becomes almost like a cocoon. Since the webbing constantly flows with chakra, it is almost unbreakable.

First performed by Kidoumaru in chapter one hundred and thirty-eight.

Kumo Soukai (Spider Web Opening)- a Ninjutsu technique that allows the ninja to create a sticky webbing out of chakra by mixing it with spit, which then comes out of their mouth. The ninja fashions this webbing into a large spider web, and the attaches every side of it to a solid surface, creating a large net to catch their enemies in. Since this webbing constantly flows with chakra, it is virtually unbreakable, and is strong enough to support two elephants.

First performed by Kidoumaru in chapter one hundred and ninety-one.

Kumosu Roken no Jutsu (Spider Web Detection Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique that allows the ninja to create a sticky webbing out of chakra by mixing it with their spit, which then comes out of their mouth. The webbing can be placed, inconspicuously, to appears as a small, normal spider's web, However, the strings of the web are tied to the fingers of the ninja, so that if the web is disturbed, the ninja will immediately know where an enemy is coming from.

First performed by Kidoumaru in chapter one hundred and eighty-six, used by Kidoumaru.

Kumosu Roken no Kansei (Spider Web Trap)- a Ninjutsu technique that allows the ninja to create a sticky webbing out of chakra by mixing it with their spit, which then comes out of their mouth. The ninja fashions this webbing into many thin, almost invisible threads that can be laid out as traps. They will catch an enemy by their ankle, like normal thread traps, but much easier, since these threads are nearly invisible and much stronger than simple ropes.

First performed by Kidoumaru in chapter one hundred and eighty-six.

Kumoyumiyakin (Golden Spider Bow and Arrow)- a Ninjutsu technique that is similar to the Kumonenkin (Golden Spider Spikes) in that the ninja secretes a hardened golden substance from their body. By mixing chakra with their spit the ninja can create a hard, golden bow with a flexible web string and a long, golden arrow, capable of decimating the ninja's target. The head of the arrow can be fashioned into various shapes, including a simple arrowhead, or even a screw to drill through an obstacle. On top of that, the ninja can control the direction of the arrow by attaching a thread of chakra to it. They can move it in any direction for fifty meters before it hits its target.

First performed by Kidoumaru in chapter one hundred and ninety-five.

Kusanagi no Tsurugi (Grasscutter Blade)- a Ninjutsu technique, which is a variation of the Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique) where the ninja summons a snake within their body that comes out of their mouth. The snake then produces the hilt of the Kusanagi no Tsurugi, or Grasscutter Blade, which the ninja can either draw out or attack with while still in their mouth. The legend of the blade is that it was found within the body of the eight-headed serpent, Orochi of Koshi, by the thunder god Susano o no Mikoto, who called it Murakakumo no Tsurugi (Blade of the Village of Clouds). He, in turn, gave the blade to the sun goddess Amaterasu to settle an old grievance. Down the line, the blade fell into the hands of the great warrior Yamato Dake, who fought his way out of a blazing field of grass, later naming it Kusanagi for its incredible feat.

The ninja can use this blade without having to physically hold it. If they are separated, the ninja can levitate the blade through projection of will, albeit not as gracefully as if they were holding it them self.

First performed by Orochimaru in chapter one hundred and twenty.

Kyoumeisen (Vibrating Sound Drill)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja uses sound waves above one hundred and fifty megahertz to disorient an opponent by attacking their inner ear, causing violent dizziness and sometimes nausea. In some cases, damage to the eardrum can occur, creating a long-lasting advantage in battle. The sound is produced by a multi-toned metallic plate worn across the ninja's forearm, which when tapped, can produce devastating vibrations.

The attacking ninja takes a swing at their opponent intending to be dodged. Once the plate is directed towards the opponent, it is tapped, producing sound waves that the ninja then manipulates with chakra, guiding it to the inner ear of their opponent.

First performed by Dosu Kinuta in chapter forty.

Kyuushuu no Chakra (Chakra Absorption)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja must make contact with their enemy. Unlike the Sabaki no Genki (Energy Drain), this technique absorbs the enemy's chakra and makes it the ninja's own.

First performed by Jiroubou in chapter one hundred and ninety.

L (n/a)
No Jutsus Available.

M
Makyou Hyoushou (Demonic Ice Mirrors)- an advanced bloodline technique, this Ninjutsu technique requires water in the immediate area. The ninja manipulates the water around them into as many mirrors as fits its volume, forming a dome around their opponent. The mirrors allow the ninja to use their reflection in each of the mirrors as an enhancement in speed. Entering through the back of one mirror, they can travel between mirrors at almost unnoticeable speed.

First performed by Haku in chapter twenty-four. This technique is an advanced bloodline technique that only he, and others from his unnamed clan, can use.

Mega Baika no Jutsu (Mega Multi-size Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique which is a variation of the Baika no Jutsu (Multi-size Technique). With this technique, the ninja increases their burning of calories to boost their chakra enough to increase the size of their entire body and their mass until it is many times larger than normal. Larger than a small area of forestry, even.

First performed by Akimichi Chouji in chapter one hundred and eighty-nine. This technique is exclusive to the Akimichi Clan.

Metempsychosis- Orochimaru's prized jutsu which he turned his back on Konoha for. This Ninjutsu technique allows Orochimaru to anchor his soul to this world forever by inhabiting the body of another human being. Making eye contact with the new host, he projects his soul into their body, forcing their own soul and mind into his subconscious. In this way, he has attained immortality.

By taking the new host, he takes any of their physical strengths and abilities, including advanced bloodline abilities and so on. He can then alter their physical appearance until he looks more like himself again. However, because of the strain of this jutsu, he can only perform it every few years, temporarily imprisoning him in the new body, no matter what.

This technique is only seen in chapter one hundred and ninety-nine used by Orochimaru. No other ninja can perform this jutsu.

Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu (Water Clone Technique)- this Ninjutsu technique uses water as its base for creating the clones. Each clone is one tenth as powerful as the ninja using it and has a limited range it can move away from its creator. Like the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Shadow Clone Technique), this clone can attack as if it were the ninja them self, and one hit will destroy it.

First performed by Momochi Zabuza in chapter twelve, it is immediately copied by Hatake Kakashi.

Mizuki no Mai (Dance of the Crescent Moon)- a Taijutsu technique incorporating swordplay and the Bunshin no Jutsu (Clone Technique). The attacking ninja leaps into the air as the clone appears to rush the opponent from the ground. In this way, the opponent is to be misled as to the direction of the attack.

First performed by Gekkou Hayate in chapter ninety-two.

Mizutamari Henge no Jutsu (Puddle Transformation Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja changes their body’s shape and molecular density to that of formless water, allowing them to become an inconspicuous puddle. Using this technique gives the ninja the element of surprise, as they can return to their normal form quickly and easily, as their opponents step over them, unnoticing.

First performed by one of the Demon Brothers in chapter nine.

Mokudon: Jyukai Koudan (Wood Type: Forest Genesis)- a Mokudon (wood type) Ninjutsu technique where the ninja uses their chakra to create the sapling of a great tree, and then continues to use their chakra to feed the root of the sapling. It grows, twists and winds through solid obstacles, and wraps around the ninja's enemy, trapping them in its branches.

First performed by Shodaime in chapter one hundred and twenty. He is the only ninja who can use this technique, and it's said that he settled the Leaf Village with it.

Mugensajin Daitopa (Great Infinite Sandblast Breakthrough)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja inhales deeply and then exhales a vicious stream of wind and sand capable of holding back a small army of ninjas. Very powerful if the being using it is of great size.

First performed by Gaara in chapter one hundred and thirty-two. This technique is exclusive to him.

N
Nemuri (Sleep)- a Genjutsu technique where the ninja places their hand on their target's shoulder and forces them into a deep slumber. A useful technique when subterfuge is involved with a mission, but utterly useless in combat.

First performed by Yakushi Kabuto in chapter one hundred and thirteen.

Nemurihane (Feather Sleep)- a Genjutsu technique where the ninja targets a mass of people and puts them to sleep. Illusory feathers appear to rain upon them, and they will then fall into a deep slumber. More useful than the simple Nemuri (Sleep) Genjutsu, this technique is still useless in combat, as most superior shinobi know Genjutsu Kai (Genjutsu Release) to counter it, and as it takes quite a lot of focus to target many people.

First performed by Yakushi Kabuto in chapter one hundred and fourteen.

Nikudan Sensha (Meat Tank)- a Taijutsu technique incorporating the Baika no Jutsu (Multi-size no Jutsu). Once the ninja's body has become massive, they tuck their arms, legs, and head into their body and become a lumbering ball of meat. In this state, they can control their speed, direction, and jump while keeping the momentum of a boulder-sized orb of flesh that can tear through practically any obstacle. It takes some skill to use this as the ninja becomes disoriented afterwards.

First performed by Akimichi Chouji in chapter fifty-five. This technique is exclusive to the Akimichi Clan.

Ningyoushibai no Koutetsu (Steel Puppet Show)- a Ninjutsu technique following the Soushouryu (Rising Twin Dragons). With the ground littered with weapons, the ninja threads their chakra around them all, controlling them like a marionette. The attacker then raises them all and launches them as a torrential downpour of steel, making dodging them almost impossible.

First performed by Tenten in episode forty-three of the anime. It has not been seen in the manga, yet, but seems sensible to have been used in chapter seventy-three in her fight against Temari.

Ni no Hoshi (Second Star)- continuation of the Taijutsu technique Ichi no Hoshi (First Star). In this stage of the technique, the second dot is show, unfolding two-thirds of the full fan. It is then swung, creating a larger, more powerful gust of wind able to deflect any projectile weapons.

First performed by Temari in episode forty-three of the anime, presumably chapter seventy-three of the manga during her fight with Tenten. It is first truly seen in chapter one hundred and six.

O
Oboro Bunshin no Jutsu (Mist Clone Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique similar to the Bunshin no Jutsu (Clone Technique), as these clones cannot attack. Whether or not they are made out of mist is hard to tell, but they are immaterial and will disperse when attacked.

First performed by Oboro, Kagari, and Mubi in chapter sixty-three.

Oiroke no Jutsu (Sexy Technique)- a variation of the Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique) that is designed, specifically, for the ninja to transform into a beautiful young woman. The only advantage to using this technique is that it usually instantly disables any perverted opponents.

First performed by Uzumaki Naruto in chapter one. The only other ninja who he taught this technique to is Konohamaru. It's a simple technique, though, and it can be assumed that any ninja could perform it if they had no morals.

Omote Renge (Front Lotus)- a forbidden Taijutsu technique (Kinjutsu) Rock Lee uses in his combo fighting style. To perform this technique, the ninja must first be able to open the Initial Gate, the first of the Hachimontonkou (Eight Celestial Gates) that limit the amount of chakra a person's body can release in combat. Normally, the human body uses only twenty percent of the power of its muscles. Opening this gate allows the ninja to use thirty percent of that power, putting more strain on their muscles. Each gate releases enough chakra to utilize ten more percent of a human's muscular power, ending with one hundred percent upon opening the eighth and final gate, the Death Gate. At this point, the muscles begin to destroy themselves and the ninja will die.

This technique utilizes the Taijutsu skill Kage Konoha Buyou (Shadow Leaf Dance), sending the opponent airborne and then paralleling them self with their shadow. At this point, bandages from the ninja's arms are wrapped around the opponent, constricting them and leaving them defenseless as the attacking ninja spins violently into the ground, crushing their opponent.

First performed by Rock Lee in chapter fifty-two. One of many techniques taught to him by Gai-sensei.

Ori no Kongou Nyoi Kage Bunshin (Diamond Staff Shadow Clone Cage)- this Ninjutsu technique utilizes the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Shadow Clone Technique) and Kongou Nyoi (Diamond Staff). The ninja, already in their Nyoibo form, produces a cage by creating a great number of shadow clones and then overlapping one another around an ally, to protect them. Alternately, the cage could be built around an opponent, and the Kage Bunshin could all attack at once.

First performed by Enma in chapter one hundred and twenty-two.

R
Rasengan (Spiral Blast)- a Ninjutsu technique incorporating the chakra control needed for both the tree climbing training and water walking training. With the type of chakra control needed for the tree climbing training, the ninja focuses a set amount of chakra into the palm of their hand. With the type of chakra control needed for the water walking training, the ninja continuously releases that set amount of chakra from the palm of their hand in the form of a constantly spinning ball.

The chaotic power of this spinning ball of chakra comes from the ninja's chakra rotation. A person's chakra rotation can be determined by the rotation of their hairline. If their hairline swirls to the right, they have a right rotation, and if it swirls to the left, they have a left rotation. With the Rasengan, the ninja focuses their chakra in the opposite direction of their chakra rotation, creating a disruption in the chakra flow, which is where the force of the Rasengan comes from. Focusing chakra to spin in every direction is the first level of this technique.

The second level of the Rasengan is power. This level of the technique forces the ninja to apply order to chaos to harness the power of this jutsu. By focusing their chakra into a single point on their palm, instead of their entire palm, they produce a stronger concentration of chakra to add to the maelstrom of their chakra flow. This creates the powerful outward force of the Rasengan, like a hurricane. Powerful, but uncontrollable, this is the second level of this technique.

The third level of the Rasengan is control. The ninja has to be able to use one hundred percent of their spinning chakra and one hundred percent of their powering chakra and keep them firmly within the palm of their hand, creating the small and controlled ball the Rasengan is typically seen as. In this state, the Rasengan becomes more focused and powerful, and as it meets friction, it becomes faster, creating even more power as the attack is in motion. Controlling the maelstrom of spinning and flowing chakra is the third step of this technique.

There are eight levels to the Rasengan that only its creator, Yondaime, knows how to accomplish. The last five have not been seen yet, but they most definitely become more powerful and more difficult to master as they go.

This technique was created by Yondaime. First performed by Jiraiya in chapter one hundred and fifty. He spends the next five chapters teaching it to Naruto, until he finally reaches the third level in chapter one hundred and fifty-eight.

Renbodou (Body Attachment)- a Ninjutsu technique unique to Sakon and Ukon. Because of their Futagogakure no Jutsu (Hidden Twin Technique), which allows them to separate from each other and then integrate again, each twin can separate themselves from each other and then attach themselves to another person's body, but only while using the second level of their Juin (curse seal). While attached to somebody, they can manipulate their own cells to attack and break down their enemy's cells, killing them from the inside. This technique is essentially unavoidable, and the only possible solution to it is suicide.

First performed by Ukon in chapter two hundred and four. It is assumed that Sakon can do it as well. But this technique is unique to them.

S
Sabaki no Genki (Energy Drain)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja must make direct physical contact with their opponent, at which point they begin to drain their chakra and physical energy through the palm of their hand. The energy does not appear to be absorbed, merely drained.

First performed by Akado Yoroi in chapter sixty-seven.

Sabaku Kyuu (Desert Coffin)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja controls sand with their chakra to completely engulf their opponent, making a full body cast around them, suffocating them, or simply immobilizing them. It is usually followed by the Sabaku Sousou (Desert Graveyard).

First performed by Gaara in chapter fifty-nine. This technique is exclusive to him.

Sabaku Sousou (Desert Graveyard)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja controls sand with their chakra to wrap around one part, or many parts, of their opponent's body. They then constrict the sand to either completely crush their opponent's body, or to crush any part engulfed in sand.

First performed by Gaara in chapter fifty-nine. This technique is exclusive to him.

Saisei no Saibou (Cell Regeneration)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja focuses all of their chakra into one part of their body just before an attack. The moment that attack connects, the chakra activates the natural regeneration of the body's cellular makeup, repairing the damage done by an attack the moment after it is done. An extremely powerful jutsu, it uses almost all of the ninja's chakra.

First performed by Kabuto in chapter one hundred and sixty-eight.

Sakujouhea (Hair Rope)- a Ninjutsu technique requiring quite a lot of hair to be scattered around the opponent's feet, under the guise of the ninja snapping mentally. Showing no apparent danger, the opponent should not suspect the hair as a weapon. But placing their hands on the path of hair in front of them, the ninja using this technique can make a powerful rope of hair by channeling their chakra through it, limiting the opponent's movement to simply pivoting in place. This sets them up for a more devastating attack, like the Shintenshin no Jutsu (Mind Body Switch Technique).

First performed by Yamanaka Ino in chapter seventy-two.

San no Hoshi (Third Star)- a continuation of the Ichi no Hoshi and Ni no Hoshi (First Star and Second Star), and the final stage of this Taijutsu technique. In this stage, the third and final dot is show, unfolding the full fan. It is then swung, creating a massive, incredibly powerful gust of wind able to deflect any projectile weapons. And at this point, it also sets the fan up to use the Kamaitachi (Slashing Wind).

First performed by Temari in episode forty-three of the anime, presumably chapter seventy-three of the manga during her fight with Tenten. It is first truly seen in chapter one hundred and six.

Satsugaite no Jutsu (Killing Hands Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja focuses chakra into the palms of their hands, creating a small ball of killing chakra, which is the complete opposite of the Chiyute no Jutsu (Healing Hands Technique). Through concentrating their chakra in a manner opposing the Chiyute, instead of rebuilding and restoring another person's cells, this jutsu intends to destroy and unravel another person's cells.

First performed by Tsunade in chapter one hundred and sixty-three.

Senei Jashuu (Shadow Snake Hand)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja, apparently, uses a variation of Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique) to summon a number of snakes within their sleeve, which spring out and surprise the enemy, attacking or grappling them to give the ninja the advantage. The snakes can also entirely leave the sleeve of the ninja to wrap around and disarm their opponent.

First performed by Mitarashi Anko in chapter fifty. It's assumed that Orochimaru taught it to her when he was her sensei as he uses it in chapter one hundred and twenty-three.

Sensatsu Suishou (Flying Water Needles)- an advanced bloodline technique, this Ninjutsu technique requires water in the immediate area. The ninja manipulates the water around them into as many needles as fits its volume, levitating them with their chakra, surrounding their opponent. Once assembled, the needles converge all at once on their target.

First performed by Haku in chapter twenty-four. This technique is an advanced bloodline technique that only he, and others from his unnamed clan, can use.

Sharingan (Copy Wheel Eyes)- an advanced bloodline technique belonging to Konoha's Uchiha Clan. The Sharingan grants its bearer utter immunity to most Genjutsu, and the ability to copy Ninjutsu, and follow Taijutsu. It is said that the Sharingan can find its roots in the Byakugan (White Eyes), though unlike the Byakugan, which is apparent in all members of the Hyuga Clan (though stronger in others), only a select few of the Uchiha Clan receive the Sharingan.

First, Genjutsu. Such techniques will not work against the Sharingan, but rather, appear as flames before their eyes. On top of being able to see through the illusions Genjutsu techniques cast, they allow one to use advanced hypnosis on an enemy. By locking eyes with them, they are able to use mental suggestion through Genjutsu, causing their opponent to follow invisible commands and play into the Sharingan bearer's hands.

Next, Ninjutsu. Not only does the Sharingan allow one to see past their opponent's jutsu, understanding the technique almost immediately, but the eyes will follow the hand and body movements of the enemy and copy their technique instantly. When used in conjunction with the Sharingan's hypnotic abilities, the bearer can even steal the enemy's technique before they use it themselves. Of course, there are limitations to this. If the technique being used is a high level Ninjutsu, it can only be properly copied if the bearer has the chakra and stamina needed to complete the jutsu. Also, it cannot copy advanced bloodline techniques. It can watch them and dissect them in combat, but it cannot copy them.

Finally, Taijutsu. The Sharingan can watch and copy the movements of an enemy, breaking down their Taijutsu style and furthering their ability to form a means of attack with a counter style. On top of that, as with Ninjutsu, the Sharingan can copy an opponent's Taijutsu techniques by copying their body movements and mimicking them. But again, there are limitations to this. If the bearer's body is not trained well enough, they cannot perform the copied technique with the strength and speed of their opponent.

There are four tiers of the Sharingan that have been seen thus far. The first level of the Sharingan shows the bearer with one tear in their right eye and two in their left eye. At this stage, the eyes have only been seen to follow Ninjutsu and Taijutsu, not copy them. The second level of the Sharingan shows the bearer with two tears in both eyes and is known to be able to follow Ninjutsu and Taijutsu, copy techniques, and see through the illusions cast by Genjutsu. The third level of the Sharingan shows the bearer with three tears in both eyes, and on top of following and copying Ninjutsu and Taijutsu, and seeing through Genjutsu, this level is the only level know to be able to utilize hypnosis.

The fourth and final tier of the Sharingan is the Mangekyou Sharingan (Kaleidoscope Copy Wheel Eyes), the complete and total mastery of the Sharingan's powers. In addition to all of the previously mentioned abilities this level grants, it also gives the bearer a much more advanced level of Genjutsu skills, allowing them to use a technique known as the Tsukiyomi (Grasping Moon). With this, once eye contact is made, the bearer can implant the idea of anything into the mind of their opponent, effectively breaking their will and spirit, scarring their mind, and reducing them to an immobile state of primal terror. Only the strongest minds could withstand such mental brutality, and only another Sharingan user from the Uchiha Clan can defend against it.

The Sharingan is first seen in chapter twelve, used by Hatake Kakashi. Uchiha Sasuke and Uchiha Itachi can also use it. Only members of the Uchiha Clan are privilege to this ability. Kakashi is a special case.

Shihou Hapou Shuriken no Maki (Cyclone of Shuriken from Every Direction)- a Taijutsu technique where the ninja creates a quantity of Kage Bunshin (shadow clones). They collectively leap into the air and simultaneously hurl a multitude of shuriken and kunai at their opponent, raining steel upon them. A taxing maneuver as one must have a lot of chakra and stamina to produce enough clones to make this move effective.

First performed by Uzumaki Naruto in chapter one hundred and thirty-four.

Shikakyu no Jutsu (Quadruped Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja takes on the physical characteristics of a beast, such as longer claw-like fingernails and fang-like canine teeth. Their senses of smell and hearing increase, and their strength and speed become augmented.

First performed by Inuzuka Kiba in chapter seventy-five. This technique is exclusive to the Inuzuka Clan.

Shikifuujin (Dead Demon Imprisonment)- a Fuuinjutsu (sealing technique) which is a variation of the Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique). Unlike the normal Kuchiyose, this summoning does not require a sacrifice of blood, as it is Shinigami, the god of death, that is being summoned, and the minute he becomes manifest in this world, he takes the soul of the ninja who summoned him. In this manner, whether the ninja succeeds in battle or not, they will die.

The ninja performs the hand seals snake, pig, ram, rabbit, dog, rat, bird, horse, and snake. After this, Shinigami appears behind them with their soul already in his clutches. Only ninjas who have signed a contract with Shinigami can actually see him, though, unless their enemy, while caught in the following technique, is close enough to death that they will actually be able to see the god of death them self. While he is in this world, he is under the temporary, confined control of the summoning ninja. Using their own body as a conduit, the god will wrap his beads around his arm and form the seals for this jutsu upon his hand and forearm, and then reach through the ninja and grab hold of their enemy's soul. The enemy must be firmly held down by the ninja, so as not to break the seal early. At this point, it is the summoning ninja's responsibility to help tear the soul of their enemy from their body, despite the fact that the act of plunging his arm through the ninja's soul has physically damaged the ninja them self. If they run out of chakra at this point, they will die a useless death while their enemy is freed from Shinigami's grasp.

However, with the use of Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Shadow Clone Technique), the ninja can attack multiple enemies, having Shinigami steal their souls at the cost of the chakra used to create a shadow clone. The ninja will still die as payment to the god of death, but it is worth it to seal away two or more powerful enemies, so long as their stamina and chakra can endure. Of course, Shinigami is open to bargain, just as long as he gets a soul out of being summoned from his home. He took only the arms of Orochimaru's soul, restricting his use of jutsu, at the behest of Sandaime. And it's entirely possible that he sealed the Kyubi inside of Naruto in this same manner, as this is the same technique used by Yondaime to fight the dreaded youma.

The use of this Kuchiyose creates a seal on the caster's body, which is why this technique is a Fuuinjutsu. The seal, which consists of eight parts in a circle around the caster's chest (or possibly, the point of entry through which Shinigami's hand reaches), with a counter-clockwise spiral in the middle of them, is kind of like the seal Naruto has on his stomach, except that his seal consists of two four-part seals and a clockwise spiral, and it acts as a trap through which the captured soul can leak chakra. The eight-part seal binds the ninja's enemy's soul to their own, so that when Shinigami takes the caster's soul, he takes along any souls sealed to them with him. It is said that the ninja's soul and their enemy's soul will forever remain in the belly of Shinigami, never gaining release, and battling for eternity.

First performed by Sandaime in chapter one hundred and twenty-two. The only other person said to be able to use it was Yondaime.

Shikokumujin (Four Seals of the Dark Mist)- a barrier Ninjutsu technique. This barrier creates a permanent lid to seal an open barrel, in which is placed a ninja with the Juin (curse seal) that Orochimaru bestows upon his minions. Inside the barrel, the ninja is left in a comatose state, after taking the Seishingan (the pills that induce the push to the second level of the Juin) as the second level of the curse seal begins to take effect.

The technique requires four ninjas fluent with barrier Ninjutsu to stand in a circle around the barrel, focusing their chakra until a dark, swirling mist appears. The mist circles the barrel from above and then closes down upon it, solidifying into the lid.

First performed by Sakon, Kidoumaru, Jiroubou, and Tayuya in chapter one hundred and eighty-four.

Shikon no Jutsu (Dead Soul Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja uses their chakra to temporarily bring life back into the hearts of the deceased, creating the illusion that they are still alive while controlling their bodies like puppets. An excellent jutsu when used as a distraction, and with the proper skills, it can make for an incredible escape plan.

First performed by Yakushi Kabuto in chapter eighty-nine. He is the only ninja seen using this skill.

Shinranshin no Jutsu (Body Traitor Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique, which is a variation of the Shintenshin no Jutsu (Mind Body Switch Technique). The ninja creates a hand seal to focus, much like the hand seal created to focus the projection of the spirit in the Shintenshin no Jutsu. But instead of projecting their spirit, the ninja uses their mind to control the body of their target. This allows them to break the connection in an instant and resume normal combat, unlike the long period of time it takes to use and recover from the Mind Body Switch. The target's mind is still their own, so they realize what they are doing when the ninja controls them.

First performed by Yamanaka Inoshin in chapter one hundred and thirty-seven. This technique is exclusive to the Yamanaka Clan.

Shintenshin no Jutsu (Mind Body Switch Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja creates a hand seal to focus on an enemy. Through this seal, the ninja's spirit enters into their opponent's body for a brief time (about two to three minutes). But in that time, they are in complete control of the enemy's body. Unfortunately, any damage sustained to the body will be reflected in the body of the ninja, deeming this skill as either a spying tactic or a suicide technique. However, if the target's will is strong enough, the jutsu won't last for long. During this attack, however, the ninja's spirit moves very slowly towards their opponent. And if they miss their mark, their body becomes temporarily incapacitated until their spirit returns to it.

First performed by Yamanaka Ino in chapter forty-two. This technique is exclusive to the Yamanaka Clan.

Shishienjin (Four Man Purple Flame Wall)- a barrier Ninjutsu technique where four ninjas place themselves far apart in a square alignment and focus their chakra into a large purple wall of fire. This wall is a solid cube and cannot be penetrated so long as it stands. Anyone who attempts to break through the barrier is lit aflame. Useful for sectoring off areas during a mission as to be able to complete a much more complicated, powerful technique, or to separate battles. So long as all four remain in concentration, the wall will not falter. But if even one of them were to be attacked while performing this, the wall will recede.

First performed by Sakon, Tayuya, Kidoumaru, and Jiroubou in chapter one hundred and fifteen.

Shishi Rendan (Lion Combo)- a Taijutsu technique following the Kage Konoha Buyou (Shadow Leaf Dance), putting both the ninja and their opponent in the air, giving the attacking ninja the advantage. Four separate blows are delivered: a roundhouse kick, followed by a powerful backhand blow, followed by a driving blow to propel them towards the ground faster, and finishing with a hard-hitting axe kick into the ground, reinforcing the blow.

First performed by Uchiha Sasuke in chapter sixty-eight.

Shougekishou (Rising Impact Palm)- a Taijutsu technique where the ninja lifts up their opponent with one arm, retracts, and then drives their palm upward into their opponent, hurling them into the air. With impressive strength, this technique could be quite devastating.

First performed by Jiroubou in chapter one hundred and ninety.

Shouhekifuu (Barrier Seal)- a Ninjutsu technique incorporating the Bakuretsufuu (Exploding Seals). The ninja sets four or more exploding seals in a formation around a certain area so that if an enemy ninja enters the set proximity of these seals, all of them will be detonated at once, ensuring that the enemy cannot escape death from any angle.

First performed by Sakon, Kidoumaru, Jiroubou, and Tayuya in chapter one hundred and eighty-five.

Shoushitsu (Knee Strike)- a Taijutsu technique where the ninja braces against the ground and drives a powerful knee into their enemy, hurling them away. With impressive strength, this technique can be devastating.

First performed by Jiroubou in chapter one hundred and eighty-eight.

Shuriken Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique)- like the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Shadow Clone Technique), this Ninjutsu technique requires a base from which to clone. Therefore, the ninja performing this throws a single shuriken at their enemy, and then performs the jutsu, creating one or many more shadow shuriken, which will then continue the path of the original shuriken. A devastating technique that is almost impossible to block or evade.

First performed by Sandaime in chapter one hundred and seventeen.

Shuushuku (Constriction)- a Taijutsu technique that requires that the ninja's body be altered so that it can become malleable upon command. The ninja wraps their arm around their enemy's arm, and then slithers their way up their body and around their neck, much like a snake. They retain their physical strength, so it is entirely possible for them to instantly break their opponent's neck once in this position.

First performed by Tsurugi Misumi in chapter seventy.

Souja Sousai no Jutsu (Double Snake Assassination Technique)- a forbidden Ninjutsu technique (Kinjutsu) involving a joined hand seal between the ninja and their opponent. This hand seal deals instantaneous death to both the ninjas performing it, making this a suicide jutsu designed for a sure kill.

First mentioned by Mitarashi Anko in chapter fifty. This technique is never fully performed.

Souseki Fuuin (Genesis Seal)- a Fuuinjutsu (sealing technique) where the ninja has a small diamond seal placed upon their forehead. This seal collects the ninja's chakra, over time, and allows them to unseal it when needed and use the Souzousaisei (Genesis Rebirth) technique, an extremely powerful healing jutsu.

First seen in chapter one hundred and forty-nine on Tsunade's forehead.

Soushouryu (Rising Twin Dragons)- a Ninjutsu technique involving the Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique) and some strong Taijutsu. The ninja places two scrolls at either side of them and performs a series of hand seals, sending both scrolls twisting into the sky as twin plums of smoke shaped like dragons. The ninja then leaps straight up through the center of the twisting scrolls as many weapons become summoned from the many seals upon them, which the user then attacks their opponent with.

First performed by Tenten in episode forty-three of the anime. It has not been seen in the manga, yet, but seems sensible to have been used in chapter seventy-three in her fight against Temari.

Soutourou (Double-headed Wolf)- a Ninjutsu technique that is a variation of the Juujin Bunshin. Instead of the ninja's dog taking the form of its master, the ninja and the dog use a Kontserun Henge no Jutsu (Combined Transformation Technique) to turn into a mammoth, double-headed wolf. This technique is then followed by the Garouga (Double Wolf Fang).

First performed by Inuzuka Kiba and Akamaru in chapter two hundred and three. This technique is exclusive to the Inuzuka Clan.

Souzousaisei (Genesis Rebirth)- a Ninjutsu technique that only those with the Souseki Fuuin (Genesis Seal) can perform. By gathering chakra into their seal over a period of time, they can then use that gathered chakra by releasing the seal. The chakra accelerates the production of various enzymes in their body, causing almost instant cellular reformation, healing absolutely any mortal wound, including extensive damage to internal organs. However, the number of times cells can multiply is limited, so using this technique takes away from the total life span of the ninja using it.

First performed by Tsunade in chapter one hundred and sixty-nine.

Suirou no Jutsu (Water Prison Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique that controls the density of water, creating a heavy area of water that become a bubble-like prison that is inescapable so long as the user maintains their concentration.

First performed by Momochi Zabuza in chapter thirteen.

Suitaihou (Water Cannonball)- a Ninjutsu technique unique to Gamabunta. He focuses his chakra and summons water into his mouth, which he then drops like bombs upon his opponent while in mid-leap.

First performed by Gamabunta in chapter one hundred and thirty-five.

Suiton: Daibakufu no Jutsu (Water Type: Great Waterfall Technique)- a Suiton (water type) Ninjutsu technique using water as its base. The ninja manipulates the water around them into a cyclonic explosion that rips into its victim like a tsunami. It has enough force to tear apart solid ground and uproot trees.

First performed by Hatake Kakashi in chapter fifteen. The technique actually belongs to Momochi Zabuza, but Kakashi stole it from him before he could even perform it.

Suiton: Suijinheki (Water Type: Water Barrier)- a Suiton (water type) Ninjutsu technique where the ninja uses already existing water and raises it around them in a circular barrier. Only extremely powerful ninjas can use this technique without available water.

First performed by Nidaime in chapter one hundred and twenty. Hatake Kakashi later uses it in chapter one hundred and forty-two.

Suiton: Suikoudan no Jutsu (Water Type: Water Shark Blast Technique)- a Suiton (water type) Ninjutsu technique where the ninja focuses their chakra through surrounding water and manipulates it into a swirling wall around them, and then directs it at their opponent in the shape of a monstrous shark made of water.

First performed by Hoshigaki Kisame in chapter one hundred and forty-one, it is immediately copied by Hatake Kakashi.

Suiton: Suiryuudan no Jutsu (Water Type: Water Dragon Blast Technique)- a Suiton (water type) Ninjutsu technique using water as its base. The ninja manipulates the water around them into the shape of a large dragon that attacks their opponent as a torrential blast.

First performed by Momochi Zabuza and Hatake Kakashi, simultaneously, in chapter fifteen. It should be noted that Nidaime uses it in chapter one hundred and twenty, without surrounding water.

Suna Bunshin no Jutsu (Sand Clone Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja creates a clone out of existing sand. Like with the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Shadow Clone Technique) and Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu (Water Clone Technique), this clone can attack an opponent with a physical body. But unlike the previous techniques, because this jutsu uses existing sand, the clone will not be destroyed instantly when attacked. It requires much more force. Also, unlike the previous techniques, this clone does not take on the exact appearance of the ninja using it. It appears to be physically similar, but one could plainly see that it is made of sand.

First performed by Gaara in chapter one hundred and eleven. This technique is exclusive to him.

Suna no Tate (Shield of Sand)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja is protected by a shifting wall of sand which deflects almost any projectile and physical attack. The sand can become solid in certain areas around the user's body to protect one area against attack, or the sand can completely encase the area around the ninja, making a sand dome, which acts as an absolute shield.

First performed by Gaara in chapter fifty-eight. Only Gaara can use this, and even then, it is not of his own free will. The sand of the Shukaku moves on its own.

Suna no Yoroi (Armor of Sand)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja uses their chakra to cover their body with a thin layer of sand to act as an armor against physical attacks. Unlike the Suna no Tate (Shield of Sand), the Armor of Sand uses chakra, and because the user wears it like armor, it weighs them down and uses a lot of stamina.

Alternatively, the armor can act as a distraction in battle when used in conjunction with the Kawarimi no Jutsu (Body Switch Technique). Since the sand weights a lot, it can stand in for the ninja's real body long enough for a counter attack before their opponent notices.

First performed by Gaara in chapter eighty-three. This technique is exclusive to him.

Suna Shuriken no Jutsu (Sand Shuriken Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique utilizing sand as a weapon. The ninja creates a hail of projectiles out of sand and hurling them with their chakra. Although they do not look like shuriken, they act like shuriken, as the sand hardens like steel.

First performed by Gaara in chapter one hundred and thirty-two. This technique is exclusive to him.

T
Tanuki Neiri no Jutsu (Sleeping Tanuki Technique)- a Ninjutsu technique that belongs only to Gaara. Forcing himself into sleep, Gaara allows the Shukaku (the sand demon that resides within him), to fully emerge, taking over his entire body and mind and unleashing it's full, devastating power. Shukaku's powers will weaken if Gaara is woken up again.

First performed by Gaara in chapter one hundred and thirty-five.

Tarenken (Multiplying Punch)- a Taijutsu technique requiring the use of the Futagogakure no Jutsu (Hidden Twin Technique). The ninja and their hidden twin attack with a flurry of punches simultaneously, making it appear as if the ninja is attacking at incredible speeds. With this attack, defense is almost impossible through typical means.

First performed by Sakon and Ukon in chapter two hundred. This technique may be unique to him as he is the only ninja known to use the Futagogakure.

Tarenkyaku (Multiplying Kick)- a Taijutsu technique requiring the use of the Futagogakure no Jutsu (Hidden Twin Technique). Similar to the Tarenken (Multiplying Punch), the ninja and their hidden twin attack with a flurry of kicks simultaneously, making it appear as if the ninja is attacking at incredible speeds. With this attack, defense is almost impossible through typical means.

First performed by Sakon and Ukon in chapter two hundred and three. This technique may be unique to him as he is the only ninja known to use the Futagogakure.

Tekken/ Gouken (Iron Fist/ Explosive Fist)- this is the style of Taijutsu that is typically used by everybody while fighting. Hard punches and kicks designed to do outer damage, like breaking the skin, bruising the muscle, and breaking the bones.

Everyone can use this style of Taijutsu, and it has been seen in virtually every chapter of the manga.

Tenfuuin (Heaven Seal)- a Juinjutsu (curse seal technique) technique which resembles the Mitsu Tomoe, an Asian symbol representing the relationship between Heaven, Earth, and Man. It also resembles a snakebite, not only because of its design, but because it is emblazoned upon the victim's skin with the ninja's teeth, which means that this seal is probably the creation of Orochimaru. The initial shock of receiving the seal is painful, at first. And the odds of surviving it are one out of ten. Also, the ninja who performs the seal, apparently, shares a symbiotic bond with the victim, allowing them to activate the seal to inhibit the target and cause pain.

However, after the recovery of receiving the Tenfuuin, the bearer can now, for a short time, draw out more of their chakra while using the seal. The more chakra they use, and the longer the seal is active, the more it spreads across their body. This is the first level of the cursed seal and is somewhat exhausting.

There is a second level of the curse where the seal itself has encompassed the bearer's entire body, turning their skin dark and making them appear as a demon with incredible power, bringing much more chakra to the surface, increasing the ninja's strength tenfold. However, this second level of the cursed seal is much more exhausting than the first. It requires the ingestion of Seishingan, which are pills that induce a comatose state. Afterwards, the Shikokumujin (Four Seals of the Dark Mist) is performed, sealing the ninja inside a barrier until the seal completes its transformation. If there is a further level of the seal, it has yet to be seen.

There are variations to this seal, apparently, as Orochimaru has four servants with seals similar to the Tenfuuin in terms of ability, but whose curse seal spreads and takes on a different patterns than this one. The bite marks on or around these ninjas' necks are also different, though it has not been revealed what types of seals they are, yet.

First performed by Orochimaru in chapter forty-nine. Both Uchiha Sasuke and Mitarashi Anko have received this Juin (curse seal). The four Sound-nin (Kidoumaru, Jiroubou, Sakon, and Tayuya) have different looking seals when they begin to spread, so there might be a difference between theirs and the Tenfuuin.

Togeyomi (Underworld Spines)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja pours chakra into their hair to create a thick, spiky coat that will pierce through an enemy's flesh if they attack. This hair can be swung erratically, if long enough, as an offensive attack as well.

First performed by Jiraiya in chapter one hundred and sixty-six.

Tokken (Tackle Charge)- a Taijutsu technique where the ninja shoulder charges their enemy, driving them away or even into something stable. With impressive strength, this technique can be quite devastating.

First performed by Jiroubou in chapter one hundred and seventy-eight.

Touton no Jutsu (Transparent Escape Technique)- a very young Jiraiya's Ninjutsu technique. It is never seen, but by the sound of it, it most likely turns the ninja invisible, if only momentarily, to allow him a quick escape. He used it for peeping as a kid.

Mentioned only once in chapter one hundred and thirty-nine, this technique is a lecherous peeping jutsu created by Jiraiya. It is possible that he taught this technique to Sandaime when he was his instructor.

Tsukiyomi (Grasping Moon)- a Genjutsu technique exclusive to the Uchiha Clan, but more importantly, only available to members of the Uchiha Clan with the Mangekyou Sharingan (Kaleidoscope Copy Wheel Eyes), the total mastery of the Sharingan. By making eye contact with their enemy, the ninja can create the illusion that they are in another place at another time in another situation. In this void of the mind, every element of space, time, and matter is under the ninja's control. They can make their enemy experience the worst pain imaginable for the longest period possible. This experience will break down the enemy's mind, if it doesn't kill them.

Only other members of the Uchiha Clan with a developed Sharingan can defend, or even counter, against this Genjutsu skill. And if used too often within a day, this technique could be a terrible strain on the ninja using it.

First performed by Uchiha Itachi in chapter one hundred and forty-two.

Tsuuga (Piercing Fang)- a Taijutsu technique following the Juujin Bunshin (Beast Human Clone), where the ninja spins violently at their opponent scratching and clawing at them. Unlike the Gatsuuga (Double Piercing Fang), this technique is done by the ninja alone, without the aid of their dog.

First performed by Inuzuka Kiba in chapter two hundred. This technique is exclusive to the Inuzuka Clan.

U
Ura Renge (Reverse Lotus)- a forbidden Taijutsu technique (Kinjutsu) Rock Lee uses in his combo fighting style. To perform this technique, the ninja must first be able to open the Life Gate, the third of the Hachimontonkou (Eight Celestial Gates) that limit the amount of chakra a person's body can release in combat. Normally, the human body uses only twenty percent of the power of its muscles. Opening this gate allows the ninja to use fifty percent of that power, putting more strain on their muscles. Each gate releases enough chakra to utilize ten more percent of a human's muscular power, ending with one hundred percent upon opening the eighth and final gate, the Death Gate. At this point, the muscles begin to destroy themselves and the ninja will die.

Like the Omote Renge (Initial Lotus), this technique utilizes the Taijutsu skill Kage Konoha Buyou (Shadow Leaf Dance), sending the opponent airborne, but without paralleling their body. Instead, with the incredible increase in strength and speed, the ninja bats their floating opponent around with a series of incredibly quick and powerful blows, moving so quickly that they cannot be caught by mere human eyes. Once the initial damage is dealt, before the ninja's muscles give out, they wrap the bandages around their left arm around the waist of their opponent and deliver a single set-up blow. As they advance towards the ground, the ninja then jerks them back up with the bandage, and at the same time, drives their right fist and boot into them, driving them back down to the ground.

First performed by Rock Lee in chapter eighty-five. One of many techniques taught to him by Gai-sensei.

Uzumaki Naruto Bunshin Gachandou (Uzumaki Naruto Clone Body Slam)- another of Naruto's personalized Taijutsu techniques. Like the Uzumaki Naruto Rendan (Uzumaki Naruto Combo), this technique involves Naruto himself and four clones. Three of them attack the opponent head on while the fourth clone picks Naruto himself up and hurls him at the opponent, to either deliver a powerful hit, or to clear him and open him up to more advanced attacks.

First performed by Uzumaki Naruto in chapter one hundred and thirty-three, this Taijutsu move is his and his alone. Others could copy it, but as there is only one Uzumaki Naruto, there is only one person who can perform the Uzumaki Naruto Bunshin Gachandou.

Uzumaki Naruto Nisen Rendan (Uzumaki Naruto Two-thousand Hit Combo)- another Taijutsu technique that Naruto has personalized. Basically a variation of the Uzumaki Naruto Rendan (Uzumaki Naruto Combo), but with approximately one thousand shadow clones. The move begins the same as his typical combo, except many more than three clones kick the opponent into the air. And once airborne, instead of being smashed with Naruto's heel, they are pummeled by an army of Naruto shadow clones. The finishing move of this technique is a simultaneous left and right cross from two of Naruto's clones, which send the opponent back down to the ground.

First performed by Uzumaki Naruto in chapter one hundred and thirty-four, this Taijutsu move is his and his alone. Others could copy it, but as there is only one Uzumaki Naruto, there is only one person who can perform the Uzumaki Naruto Nisen Rendan.

Uzumaki Naruto Rendan (Uzumaki Naruto Combo)- one of Naruto's own personalized Taijutsu combos. Using Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Shadow Clone Technique) to create four more of himself, Naruto gives his opponent a powerful right cross, sending them backwards. Three of his clones then slide kick into the opponent at once, sending them airborne, where his last clone delivers a mighty axe kick, driving the opponent into the ground.

First performed by Uzumaki Naruto in chapter seventy-seven, this Taijutsu move is his and his alone. Others could copy it, but as there is only one Uzumaki Naruto, there is only one person who can perform the Uzumaki Naruto Rendan.

Uzumaki Naruto Yonsen Rendan (Uzumaki Naruto Four-thousand Hit Combo)- another Taijutsu technique that Naruto has personalized. A variation of the Uzumaki Naruto Nisen Rendan (Uzumaki Naruto Two-thousand Combo), except this technique utilizes both Naruto's fists and feet. All of his one thousand clones leap into battle above his opponent and fall upon them with their feet extended and a kunai in each hand. If landed perfectly, a truly devastating technique.

First performed by Uzumaki Naruto in chapter one hundred and thirty-four, this Taijutsu move is his and his alone. Others could copy it, but as there is only one Uzumaki Naruto, there is only one person who can perform the Uzumaki Naruto Yonsen Rendan.

Y
Yanagi no Buyou (Dance of the Willows)- an advanced bloodline technique, this Taijutsu technique utilizes the Koutetsu no Hone (Steel Bones). The ninja extends bone blades from their palms, and then enters into a graceful dance that allows them to speedily dispatch of a large group of enemies at once. This is the first of five dances affiliated with this advanced bloodline.

First performed by Kimimaro in chapter two hundred and five. This technique is an advanced bloodline technique, which only he, and other members of his unnamed clan, can use.

Yomi no Shoutaku (Swamp of the Underworld)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja transmutes an area of land into a swamp. This swamp instantly appears within the area of the technique, swallowing anyone or anything caught it in, making movement almost impossible. The concentration of the ninja's chakra determines the area and depth of the swamp.

First performed by Jiraiya in chapter one hundred and sixty-six.

Yosouya (Crystal Gazer)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja focuses their chakra into a crystal ball, which then allows them to monitor an area around them proportionate to the amount of chakra used to activate and direct the crystal.

First performed by Sandaime in chapter one.

Youjitsuba (Spitting Toothpick)- a Taijutsu technique where the ninja spits a toothpick out of their mouth. Attacking in this manner, while the enemy is normally focusing on your hands, provides a small element of surprise, but with much more effectiveness when used following a distraction.

First performed by Genma in chapter one hundred and eighty-five.

Z
Zankuuha (Air Slicing Blast)- a Ninjutsu technique where the ninja controls air pressure and supersonic sound waves through tubes implanted in their arms, creating large and powerful blasts from their hands, strong enough to distort earth and destroy rocks.

This technique also allows the user to control exactly how much of what force is used. Normally, it is only enough needed to deal with whatever opponent they're facing. But once one hundred percent of both air pressure and supersonic sound is used, this move becomes the Zankuukyokuha (Ultimate Air Slicing Blast).

First performed by Zaku Abumi in chapter fifty-two.

Zeshi Nensan (Thousand-fanged Acid)- a Ninjutsu technique unique to Katsuyu, the king of the slug summoning. Katsuyu spits a wave of acid from his mouth towards a larger enemy, or raining down upon smaller enemies. The acid is incredibly corrosive and can deteriorate a boulder almost instantly.

First performed by Katsuyu in chapter one hundred and seventy.
