Polaroid Emulsion Transfer (Polaroid Lift) - Please click on image to enlarge....
The slide image was copied onto to the Color Polaroid 669 Instant film using a Vivita Slide Printer. The Polaroid imaage was processed normally and was left to dry completely. An adhesive backing (Mactac) was attached to the back of the print to prevent the backing from separating in the hot water bath. The positive with the backing was then cooked in a 160F hot water bath for 4 minutes or until bubble appears on the image surface. Put the cooked image into another warm water bath and carefully peel off the image with a #5 water color brush. Iside the tray of water, lay the image upside down on a piece of acetate and clean the back of the image to get rid of all the remaining gel. Immerse a piece of Arches 140 lb water color paper into the water and carefully transfer the image. Adjust the final image with the water color brush. Roll the image with the soft Brayer roller from the center out and let the image to air dry.
