The History of Polar Bear - According to Fox

A Polar Bear?
I know what you're all thinking: "Right - a Polar Bear." It's true. My first year in college would introduce me to a Polar Bear. At first I remember being irritated by the idea that there was someone else who had claimed the "polar" persona. It was like a: "Hey, I had Polar first!" type of deal. It didn't take very long however for me to realize how much the Polar Bear persona really did match my friend Pat. It was understandable how he had earned the nickname, "Polar Bear." There are downsides to sharing the "polar" persona - like confusion over screen names. (I've had my SN since I was twelve!) There are many upsides however like being able to say you know a Polar Bear. I guess I'm very lucky I extended my persona to Polar Fox a few years ago huh? That would have been very interesting had there been two Polar Bears! Who would everyone have believed? The scrawny Asian kid who used the persona as a net alias or the strong tall Missouran who actually looked like a Polar Bear? Heheh, I guess I was lucky that wasn't the case. I actually don't call him Polar Bear as much. I often just use his real name or Pibbs - a nickname he's aquired from his obsession with the soft drink.
In less that a few months, Polar Bear became one of my closest college buddies. Not only was P. Diddy a friend you could feel safe a secure around (awesome body guard), but more importantly he's a fun person to be around. I actually meet the playful Polar Bear while roaming the halls that first weekend and hearing shooting at the end of the hallway. Pibbs was playing Medal of Honor on the PS2 on his roommate's big screen TV. Score! A video game system on a big screen! As luck would have it though, the big screen eventually died and turned into a shelf. Heheh.

Our first recorded memorable moment was when we were hangin' out with Vinny and his best friend from the OC. Pat was showing us some of his cool aviator equip and put some of it on making him look like a mad scientist. We played the act hoping to scare our RA, but instead just got laughs from a failed attempt - not to mention cool pics of Pat strangling Kevin. Aside from his intimidating persona, Pibbs is really a kind, compassionate, and talented bear on the inside. He's a major fan of the 80s and enjoys listening and singing a lot of music from that era (no to mention watch movies like Iron Eagle).

Water - a Polar Bear's Natural Element
(Although as a Gemini, he's technically an air sign) - Pat's realtionship with water is remarkable. As a swimmer, summer life guard, and water polo player, Pat loves to talk about his natural element. Even in the rain he seems unstoppable with his mega umbrella. He's a beast when he's in action in water polo games. His friends do their best cheering on the sidelines as we watch the polar bear in action.

The Warrior
One of my fondest memories of Pibbs was sharing with us his obsession with Dynasty Warrior games. We were into Dynasty Warriors 4 for awhile until he brough back with him Dynasty Tactics 2. I only played a little bit since I never had any time to play video games. Dynasty Warriors say a lot about his personality. He's a major fan of history and enjoys living life with the philosophies of a warrior. Keeping himself proud and strong in what he does, he's always ready for a challenge. He often says that he was probably placed in the wrong era and would fit nicely as a night. (The guys say I should have existed in the Confucian Era). Although he really doesn't fight in wars or plan on being in the military, we like to consider Pat our warrior friend and loyal body guard. Heheh. I'm known as stereotypical Asian kung-fu guy, 'cause every Asian knows kung-fu right? Heheh. Yeah...

The Women
Ah the women! The women in Pibb's life! Well... at ND there weren't that many. It was rough on Pat and I at first in making lady friends as we started all over at ND. The first few days Pat actually held the advantage by knowing some ND students. As the days went by however, we ended up relying more on Kevin's connections. In his home town, Pat was used to being around the ladies all the time at the pool, but in his new environment he faced a good deal of road blocks. Kevin had a handful of stalkers to always deal with and Alan was super loyal to his girlfriend back home. As for me - well let's just say I'm working on it. Heheh. I've actually befriended a number of nice girls at ND. At first I had a problem with it since I found it hard to find someone I actually thought was real and I could relate too. Fortunately we had some great close gal friends that hung out a lot at Keough since they ended up liking being around guys than around their girl dorms. Tracy and Kate were regulars at Keough by the end of first semester.
I guess Pibbs and I are on the same boat when it comes to finding romantic interests. Don't worry, it won't take long for the girls to start fallin for us once we set up our bachelor pad this sememster.

The Champion - Balancing Active and Lazy
Well truth be told, the Mellow Thugs of 3A are really lazy. It's no surprise that our group of guys enjoyed laying back and chillin' instead of throwing back a few and spillin'. Our activeness was usually in the sense of intellectual thought. On many occasions I've had political and philosophical chats with this Polar Bear giant. Of course he's not always in his lazy soft side mode. Pibbs has proved his active worth on the field and in the pool in our many dorm events such as the Chariot Race, Football, and Late Night Olympics. He's usually up really late before he's motivated to get his work done, but he's very efficient in finishing up. Next semester we will have a lot of classes together, so hopefully since we'll be doing the same work, we'll be more motivated to get it done since both of us have to meet the same deadlines. It wont be like last year where the guys would be chillin' and I'd have some god awful chem lab to finish up. I'm confident that this champion will help me balance my active life (raquetball and school work) with my lazy life (television and videogames). The pairing of the Polar Champions will show the world that you can be strong at what you work at as well as know how to have fun and relax.
