So you wanna be a graduate student? Well, you've come to the right place! It only takes a matter of weeks to realize that grad school, for the most part, is a process of realizing what to say, what to wear, and when to show up for free food.

Well, here's what I've found....
1. Learn to Speak Graduate Student

Repeat after me... (great for use in conferences or in seminar)

"I was struck by...(insert item)"
"How does the author address implicit gender roles?"
"Could you clarify your argument?"
"I'd like to push you a little further on..."
"I can see how that ties into your postmodernist philosophy..."


Insert any of the following words and phrases  into your sentence for insta-grad student history speak:
