I will offer this tool as a free reporting tool for those of us that purchased VB.NET Standard, which comes without crystal reports.

4/2/2005 Initiated project. Need to develope a .net control to permit reporting, totalling, easily without too much development.
Steps to build a report using EZReporting:
1. Build a .txt file of - - - 1st record contains field names, all following records contain actual data which matches the columns/field names in record one. This should be built programmatically within your main program.
4/3/2005 Development of load and save report criteria fairly under control. rpt files are very small at under 1000 bytes depending how much criteria you want to add. Next up, write a program that will be an addin within vb.net that supports events - edit, generate. 5 hours
7/18/2008 This project is incomplete, however, have downloaded vbreport from website in place. Some day I'd like to get back to this to help developers.

EZReporting
2. Open the EZReporting build interface, load a created .txt file, fields and data are loaded.
3. Format your detail lines which also builds the column headings.
4. Indicate control break fields, this also defines sort sequence.
5. Indicate how you want totals to appear - sum, count.
6. Save your EZReporting report definition.
7. Add plug in into your project, use retrieve reports (must supply directory) or generate report (must supply report definition file and path).
