Disclaimer: If I owned Dragon Ball Z, Goku really would be twins. Wouldn't that be cool? Then Chi-chi and Vegeta could each have one!

Feedback: Constructive criticism very welcome. Other forms of feedback also accepted. Warnings: Shounen-ai, swearing.

This is the most confusing one yet! At least... I think so. Maybe it isn't. Oh well, read it anyway! Read! Read!

The woods were quiet. The bright green leaves of the trees swayed in a wind too faint to rustle them significantly. The birds chirped back and forth at each other, squirrels scuttled around in the trees and underbrush. A few clouds dotted the sky here and there, looking much like a childs painting.

Kokou strolled through it, humming cheerfully, seemingly oblivious to the beauty of the woods around him. A young boy followed him closely, smiling and gazing around at the trees and creatures in wonder.

"Wow. This is pretty, daddy!" the boy bent down to pick up a feather that the light wind had blown onto the path "Its much prettier than the bad-home."

"Nice to know you like it son. Youve been here before though, why so awed?" Kokou still didnt quite understand human reasoning, but he was willing to try. Kids were always easier for him to understand anyway.

"Its still pretty!" the kid, Gaimai, responded, as if that should have been obvious to the grown man.

"That it is. That it is." Kokou chuckled and turned his attention back to whatever he had been thinking about before.

"Hey koi! Nice to see you back in one piece!" Chichi waved from where he had been sweeping the porch "Good thing you were still with me the whole time, eh?"

...And once more my comments break up the flow of the story. Yes, I used he in reference to Chichi. Remember; alternate universe.

"Good thing, or I might have gone mad dealing with that alone! Bah, social workers. Next time we both go, ok?" Kokou gave his mate a warm hug as Gaimai ran inside.

"Ok, but you know they dont like dealing with us as a couple. But trying again as your own twin brother was brilliant." Chichi grinned, putting the broom away as they went inside.

"Well, its not like anyone else is their own twin brother." Kokou commented from his seat at the kitchen table. Kokou let his arms unwrap from his mate and walked over to sit by his twin.

"Well telepathic twins arent exactly common in humans." Chichi dropped down into his own seat, opposite Kokou.

"Not exactly common in Saiyajin either. I think there was only me and Salarie on the whole planet. They put us in the same class as soon as it was figured out that all four of us were two people. I think they were trying to make as few people as possible have to deal with us." Kokou poured a couple glasses of milk for himselves and took a sip.

"Heh, I bet they got quite confused about it." Chichi chuckled and held out his hand for the milk.

"Some of them. Some handled it perfectly well, and some explained everything to me twice, because theyd do it to each body." Kokou looked down at a tug on his pant leg to find Gaimai looking up at him "Yeah kid?"

"People at the door wanna talk to you. They have suits and badges. Not cops though." Gaimai explained.

"Ah. Well, I suppose me and Cheechll go see what they want. Dont wander out of the house and get eaten by a T-rex now, yhear?" Kokou grinned at Gaimai and ruffled his hair, before both of him and Chichi got up to go see what the people waiting by the door wanted.

"We just came to talk to you about your lifestyles and the child, sirs." one of the two men, Jackson, said calmly as they sat in the living room. The two men sat in chairs to one side of the living room, Chichi to the left of Kokou on the couch on the other side.

"What about our lifestyle, gentlemen? We dont smoke, drink, own guns, or engage in any sort of illegal activity." Kokou, on the right, waved a hand vaguely in the air in way that implied asking for definition.

"Well sirs..." the other man, Howard (Kokou had had to suppress an urge to chuckle when he had heard the mans name), steepled his fingers and gazed over them at Kokou and Chichi "Were afraid of the child having a hard time adjusting to normal life outside the home without a normal family to learn behavioral structures from."

"Aw now, you cant take Gaimai away for that, hes happy here." Kokou, on the left, complained "Isnt happiness more important than normality? And besides, were not that weird. Were just together, me and Cheech. Its not like we own a harem or do it with animals!"

"Sirs, we understand you may feel that there is nothing unusual in this situation, but I beg you to understand, the foster care staff dont see it that way..." Jackson stated.

"No fucking way are you taking me away from my new daddies! And thats a word I learned from Sam, when I was in the bad-home with the lots of kids!" Gaimai marched into the middle of the living room and glared at Jackson and Howard.

"Youre a little young to know whats good and healthy for the average child... Gaimai was it?" Howard arched an eyebrow exactly like the family therapist two chapters back.

"Bullshit! And thats another word Sam taught me. Im not an average child and I fully know what makes me happy! And thats being here with my daddies! They may be weird but they love me, and thats more than I ever got at the bad-home or anywhere before it!" Gaimai snapped, and stalked over to Chichi and Kokou and climbed on the couch and Kokous (right) lap. Kokou ruffled his hair.

"Hey kid. You probably should have stayed in the kitchen. Yer not gonna like it in here when we start the real debates." Kokou smiled down at Gaimai.

"Ill leave then. Im staying now though. If they take me away I want as much time with my daddies as possible before I go." Gaimai reached over Kokou and snagged Chichis hand, pulling it across to hold it tight against him.

"And what of you sir?" Howard looked at the Kokou who had the kid snuggled onto his lap like a large cat "Mr. Son said he and Mr..."

"Chichi. No surname. My father is the Ox King." Chichi said.

"Mr. Chichi are together, but what is your role in this household?" Howard continued.

"Oh, me?" the Kokou on the right grinned "Im Kokous twin brother! Didntcha know?"

"No sir, we didnt. May we get your name for the records?" Howard pulled out a clipboard and a pen.

"Sure. Im Karot. Nice to meetcha." the right Kokou waved slightly. Chichi and the Kokou on the left rolled their eyes.

"Well Karot, could you take the child outside while we discuss his possible future with Mr. Son and Mr. Chichi?" Howard asked.

"Sure!" Kokou hummed cheerfully as he took Gaimai out of the room.

"Sirs, we heard you have experience in martial arts...?" Howard cautiously put forth.

"Hai." Kokou nodded "Both me and Chichi are experienced martial artists and have actually competed in the Tenkaichi Budokai several times before."

"Were worried youll force the kid to fight." Jackson explained, earning a cold look from Howard.

"Well, we arent gonna force him, well teach him martial arts if he wants to learn. Martial arts isnt just about fighting you know, theres an honor code and is mostly about self-control and discipline." Kokou smiled winningly. Howard was not won over.

"Why does Mr. Chichi speak so little?" Howard was ticking off notes on his notepad and Kokou had the oddest sense of dj vu.

"I only speak when I have something to say." Chichi gazed calmly at the men as if they were small children he was lecturing.

"Well, I hope you have more to say in the rest of our time talking, sir." Howard looked over his glasses at Chichi as if examining a specimen in a lab.

Jackson was looking nervously between the two as if they were lions squaring off, and he was a fox caught nearby.

Kokou just smiled...

Gaimai looked up at Kokou worriedly.
"Daddy, do you think theyll take me away from you and papa?"

"Naw son, me and Cheechre talking with them now and I think well be able to make them see things our way. Want me to catch us a fish for a snack?" Kokou grinned cheerfully.

"Yeah! Youre the best, daddy!" Gaimai hugged Kokou tightly and took off for the river.

As happens sometimes, I have found myself without comments for the end of this. Half the board is set, now we must place the opposing pieces.

Please, send me your comments, criticisms, and flames. All help me improve.

Thank you.
