In the end
Chapter 4

Disclaimer: Forget it. It’s not worth arguing over. I’m going to go lay down and laugh at the lawyers who actually think I’m doing the fandom a disservice.

Warnings: OOC Goku.

The Prince of all Fighters pushed himself to a sitting position. Trunks groaned sat up as well. They both stood and looked at each other. They nodded acknowledgement to each other’s fighting prowess, and Trunks climbed up onto the ring to shake the hand of his opponent.

The Prince of all Fighters grinned like a child who had just gotten a new bike for his birthday, and vigorously shook Trunks’ hand.

"The Prince of all Fighters wins the tournament!" the announcer blared loud enough to make Goku yelp and clutch his hands over his ears. Bulma was too busy staring down at the ring in slack-jawed amazement to comment on his behavior.

"Sir," the announcer walked onto the ring as Trunks left, "I assume you’re going to donate the prize money to charity, like you always do after winning a tournament. Who is benefiting this time?"

The Prince of all Fighters snatched up the microphone and gave the crowd a smile that had most of the ladies (and a few of the guys) in the audience practically swooning over him.

"Well, this time I’d like to donate to the Abused Wives of Japan fund! They do great work helping women who are victims of domestic abuse, and it saddens me how many people get hurt by those they love!"

Goku looked down at the floor beneath him guiltily.

"I’d also like to say how jealous I am of all the couples out there today, watching the show. I hope you never have to call nine-one-one on each other! Have a great four years until the next Tenkaichi Budokai!" The Prince of all Fighters waved, then covered up the microphone and talked briefly with the announcer, then walked out of the ring and left.

"Well," the announcer called up at the audience, "I’m sorry to say that The Prince of all Fighters will not be publicly accepting his prize money! He wants to have it directly donated without his involvement. He also said that he wishes to give his trophy to the last young man he fought, who he says would have beaten him if he hadn’t been holding back! Let’s welcome back onto the ring; Trunks Briefs!"

Trunks was startled that he’d been called back, but he went back and got the microphone shoved towards him.

"Is it true," the announcer asked, "that you were holding back on that last fight?"

"Uh... I guess." Trunks looked around, as if making sure a hidden enemy wasn’t about the pounce "But I think he was too."

"Well, he claimed you would have won, and he insisted that you have the trophy, so... Congratulations Trunks Briefs!" the announcer handed Trunks the Tenkaichi Budokai winner’s trophy.

"Uh, thanks." Trunks looked a little embarrassed, but accepted the trophy.

And everyone got back together and headed home, chatting about how odd it was that this ‘The Prince of all Fighters’ had not only decided to donate all his prize money, but also give up his trophy to Trunks.

"You know," Bulma commented, "I almost thought it was Vegeta at first, what with the scar over his eye, but there’s no way that man was Vegeta."

Everyone nodded and agreed to that, except Goku.

Goku just sat silently in the back of the capsule plane, thinking about The Prince of all Fighters, and wondering if he could find out anything more about the man.
