Bulbasaur
Ash first met Bulbasaur when he was trying to catch an Oddish and Bulbasaur jumped out and saved it. Bulbasaur was the protector a hidden village where Pokemon could come and rest. That's why it protected the Oddish.
Bullbasaur did not take a liking to Ash at all at first. But the girl who worked there wanted Bulbasaur to go with Ash because she thought the villge needed to independent becouse Bulbasaur was always protecting them. So Bulbasaur went with Ash and eventually got to like Ash, now they are life long friends.
