The Free Battle arena is an area where trainers can battle each
other. Just like in the Stadium, they can
use their own pokémon that accompany them as they travel through Johto
and Kanto, or they can borrow rental
pokémon. With special authorization, trainers can battle on any
stage that they have battled previously with any ruleset that they
wish.
