Professor Birch's Lab is located in this town. He is a renown professor that researches and studies Pokémon.
Unlike Professor Elm and Professor Oak, he prefers to go out in the tall grass and do fieldwork, rather than stay all "coped up" in his lab all day.

Professor Birch has two children: Brendan and May. one of them has left town, but the other still helps the pokémon professor with his work.
During the year 2003, they explored Hoenn at the same time that another new trainer was doing so, helping them along the way whenever they bumped into each other.

Littleroot Town's "New" Trainer

In 2003, a new trainer and family moved to Littleroot Town from Johto. The mother lives in the house here, but the father is busy tending Petalburg Gym.

This trainer received the first pokémon from Professor Birch and began a pokémon adventure practically alongside Birch's child's quest.
