HOW TO ROLE PLAY 101

well you don't know what Role Playing is?
ROLE PLAYING= acting as another fantasy character in a Privet chat room. the character is to be of a fighting varity ((Role PLaying is NOT those stupid little things with people playing idle teenagers...))
the Role playing Lingo? i use it around the site every now and again...

to Role Play you need a character. for me it's easy cause i have a very detailed plotline with my Characters. Plotline is very good! Plot line for a Character is a very important tool. you can use it to peak interest and some times the Evil Chars can use it against the char, and more conflicts are more fun. how do you make a character?

Character Making Rule #1

stregth is good, but don't go overboard people! people who do are known as Power Players. skilled players can take these guys down with counters, but we'll talk about those later. think of the Role playing world like so, a good stregth medium to find is good. i like to use the "if my character was real" like so, "Rachel can lift 1 ton of dead weight over her head" seem like alot? it isn't Rachel is dawfted by other Chars i RP with. now then, Spells are widely used. have a well rounded char if possibal. do this, if the char is super strong give it less Magic, if it's weak give it more magic, follow this Scale.
Stregth= Large, Magic= Small
Stregth= Medium, Magic= Medium
Stregth= Small, Magic= Large
this is a good point, a character has to have a weakness!

Character Making Rule #2

Spell types. be orginal, the char can chant a spell out, or not. naming spels can be simple just like thinking of random sylabos till it fits, or you can Ripoff other spells. some people like to dive into a DnD Players Handbook so they have less to think about. this is fine cause it has many spells that can be suped up and modifyed. keep in mind the balance of this. these are just hints mind you, you don't have to follow them, but i suggest you do.

Character Making Rule #3

NAMES! yep, names are easier said then done. my favorite way is to mix names, or play with the way letters spell things. like "Zero" and "Xiro" sound the same. but the best way is like this. take two names, for example... "Zech" and "Herio" play with the sylibols and sound them out, then spell it how it sounds "Ze-rio" play with it as much as you want, and then spell it out "Zithero" now you know where i got such a weird sounding name. that's all there is to it. rember these are just ideas and opinons for a well rounded Role Playing Character. now to the rest of it...

Lingo

Tool #1 is Actions cases.

::ACTION::

this is what your Character does in any situation. out side of these Colens everything type the Char says. these are also where "counters" come in. if someone types
Zith: die! ::throws punch at Eva's face::

you can counter this by typing afterward
Eva: no... ::ducks under his punch and uppercuts his stomach::
this is where you must think of the characters skill level. think of it like this "could i block that if i were in that situation?" and think of the stregth of the Character you're role Playing. then simply add the affect
Zith: ::grabs gut in pain:: B-Bitch!
comedy is always allowed.
Eva: you really shouldn't play with girls out of your leage little man.

Tool #2 Out Of Character Bubbles. didn't understand what just happned? well these are OOC (Out Of Character) bubbles

((OOC))

this is easily used through out the RP and can even have things the char does comedicly but doesn't do in the real RP.

OOC, IC

these are simple

IC = In Character

or

Game On

that's about it. some people have multipul characters, in which case each char is represented like so
Rachel: listen you little Whore i said i'd beat the shit out of you if you laid a
Rachel: hand on her agian!

what happened there? well in AOL chat rooms you can only type so much, don't worry about it. just hit enter and pick up where you left off. one last lesson...

LAG

this is when you send a message, and it pops up between 4 or 20 seconds later. it can be annyoing but don't worry about it.
