Chapter Nine: Storm Forecasts Part One
I would like to thank you for sitting through my little presentation.
- Yes, Celeste getting sick from the weather is a big part why this is called Stormy Forecast. Also I’m having fun showing how Celeste’s little knacks all come with a price, one Celeste is consciously paying.
- Lantern-eyes and feather-brain are just fun nicknames I came up. Celeste calls Phoebe feather-brain and Phoebe calls Celeste Lantern-eyes. I think they are cute nicknames, not that anyone would dare call me either.
- As you could probably tell, I went through a typical day for several of the characters. Rini’s was to show how I think Rini has developed as a person. I hoped to achieve a nice balance between Serena’s and Darien’s personalities. And I think it was important to acknowledge my opinion of Rini’s relationship with Hotaru. I like to think of it as that of two best friends. I’m a big believer that there are many different types of love (the English language is so limited, having one word for love and numerous for lust). The love between best friends is drastically different from that of lovers, though I believe it is possible to feel both for the same person. I also believe it is possible to feel both for different people. I’m clearing that up now for the fanfic, for I do realize that those of you who read the manga see that it is implied that it was more between them. I haven't read the manga, so I can't comment one way or the other. I’m not saying whether or not this happens in the authentic Sailor Moon world, but in my fanfic world, it doesn’t.
- I simply had fun writing Amy’s section. Minnie and Naomi will never be major characters, but I thought it would be nice for Amy to have some friends from school. I realize that in the authentic SM world, Amy goes to the same school as Serena, Mina, and Lita. But once again, this is my fanfic world here, and I think it is more appropriate for Amy to got to a different school. And as for Amy’s secret project, this is something that is going to be mentioned throughout the seasons.
- Lita’s section is because I gave into my desire to give a glimpse into the past. The dryads thing is something that happens in my Jovian culture. Also, yes Princess Jupiter was not the heir to planet Jupiter. The dub said that the senshi were all princesses of their respective planets. It did not say they were the heirs and it did not say they were only children. Something that you will see happens is that in some cases, the power of a senshi doesn’t always come down the direct royal line. Frequently the power skips around to others with the lineage. This isn’t as important now as it will be when I finally get the PreSeason written.
- Glenda was something that randomly evolved. I do however believe it is a perfectly realistic situation. One quick thing, I’m making Amara and Michelle more open about their relationship. That does not mean it is a vulgar thing to watch. I think their reactions to one another is cute, to be honest. Pretty much, I’m keeping it very chaste.
- Serena being bulimic. Quick question, how many people would have guessed this? The real question, however, is will she continue to be bulimic?
Oh yeah, I also think it is realistic she becomes jealous of Celeste.
- It would have been too easy to allow DJ to realize Celeste is the Solar Sailor this episode. Same as it would have been too easy if they started dating.
- You’ll find out soon why DJ and Darien seem to know each other. A few of you may have even guessed what my foreshadowings lead up to. I’d be interested in what you think.
- Yes, next episode I will wrap up who Jonathan is and what happened to him. Next episode will also explain a lot about Celeste’s past, such as to why she hates the fashion industry, why she pushes people away, and what exactly caused her parents’ divorce (it isn’t quite technically finalized, but it is in the process).
- Advice I decided to repeat in every one of my notes here on out: pay attention to the details if you want to guess my foreshadowings. I rarely put in a detail just for the hell of it, though that is occasionally fun, I don't have the time to waste on superfluous minute aspects. So if you read something and it seems like it has been mentioned before, there is a good likelihood it was. There are many reoccurences. On that note, I do plan on tying up some loose ends I left in the beginning, such as Raye's visions. That is really important in the long run, and I'm going to periodically bring them up again.
- The scene with Natalie and Vana and Fauna is important. I did not throw this one in for the hell of it.
So after hearing my wise words, and marvelous opinions, outside of the context of the story, I hopefully leave you longing for more of my quick wit and humor. Now then, I have just spent 6 hours finishing this up. Meaning I have completed yet another chapter and another set of notes that gives further explanations. I'm now going to head off to my room and roam around the realm of Morpheus.
I hope you enjoyed the first nine chapters of Solar Revolution. I am really proud of this episode. Sorry for those of you who were bored for the lack of action. Keep reading.
