Solar Revolution Notes
Chapter Twelve: Mnemonsyne Part 2
- As mentioned beforehand, this chapter was started a year ago. And actually, for at least the past six months, it was almost the length this installment is. For I while, I had decided that since it has been so long since I've posted a new chapter, I'd decided to make this temporarily a two part chapter. Both parts were going to eventually be put together, making one complete eleventh chapter. However, once I started writing Part 2, I realized that both halves were going to be substantial enough to stand on their own. Hence, I decided to make Part 2 its own chapter, Chapter 12. I warned you this might happen
- Just so you know, it took me a long time to craft this conversation among the senshi. This is going to be my last major group conversation for a while, since it is difficult giving each character some opportunity to give their imput. That and, it is annoying having to review who knows what. But it is done, and you have a better idea about the visions.
- Nephlyte was my favorite villain in the Sailor Moon universe, period. It isn't necessarily because he ended up trying to stop his evil ways and died in the process. I just thought he was cool when he was being fullfledged evil. And, it really struck me how Molly didn't remember him, because he didn't exist in this time. So, this was my chance to have some closure about the issue. Just because Molly is gaining all sorts of powers as the Great Scribe doesn't mean she will easily go into the situation. But, now that she has dealt with the Nephlyte factor, she is ready to focus on the difficulties associated with becoming the Great Scribe.
- Anyway, I'm really hoping you listened to the song "I May Know The Word" by Natalie Merchant. I mean this more so than most of my songs. For the most part, every other song is something that is supplemental that I think fits that scene, after the fact.. However, the song "I May Know The Word" played a big part in inspiring the whole Great Scribe thing. It was so long ago since the idea was first conceived that I don't remember to how large of an extent it inspired my ideas, but I do know it was a significant amount. I won't swear on this, but it might have inspired the Scribes in the first place. Hmm... I can't remember. Sure a few other songs inspired little incidents, but none inspired something on this grand of a scale. But if there is one song that you listen to while reading any section of my story, make it this one.
- I know the book opinions are obviously mine. But that doesn't mean I feel guilty about using my characters as means of expressing my opinions. That's a large part of why people write. I felt like the rest of the scene was a little forced, but I didn't have the patience to make it sound more natural and smooth feeling. DJ and Celeste will eventually have a heart to heart, but not yet. Whether things will work out is a completely different story… Oh yeah, I've been really into bands like Simple Plan, Bowling for Soup, and Good Charlotte lately. I see nothing wrong with characters sharing this interest. =^ )
- Now you know why Fauna wanted Derek to test out her device. Amazing, Bright Futures can regenerate. What is Derek's Future that makes it so massively Bright?
- Oh yeah, Flora's role will be explained eventually. Anyone familiar with mythology can probably guess her connection to Fauna, but I'm not going to say anything yet. Also, you'll have a hard time guessing what will be used as Her third mask. But I think it's cool, even moreso when you find out why the masks are important.
- The time forking trait will play somewhat of a role throughout Solar Revolution. It's why it is so important for the senshi to do as they are destined, else the future will jump over a significant distance of forking.
- What are Fauna's reason for using Derek in her mysterious machines? Her real reason, and not the one she gives Derek. It is... can't tell you. Trust me, it will be cool and will make sense.
- I was finally in a writing mood when I wrote Rini's study session scene. I went overboard, I know. But words just kept coming, and details, and ideas, and… I couldn't help myself.
- Finally it is clear why Greg had to be captured. His misleading information will help so much in the long run to undermine Fauna. I had my reasons for reviving him as a character. And some people doubted me.
- It is important that Annie is the only Evolite able to remember the past. She is firstly a Bona Deaan. But secondly, Fauna is unable to mess with Annie's memories for some reason. This is largely why Fauna is jealous of Annie, not because of the M Butterfly thing.
- This chapter I intended on introducing the rest of the newest attacks, and I did, finally. The fight scene was why this chapter took forever, for I had it otherwise completed weeks ago. However, I finally just forced wrote the scene. I'm not completely satisfied with how the fight scene is described, but I couldn't focus enough to make it up to my standards, and I didn't want to wait any longer to post the chapter. It is quite impressive however that the senshi defeated 3 Generals in one battle.
- Advice I decided to repeat in every one of my notes here on out: pay attention to the details if you want to guess my foreshadowings. I rarely put in a detail just for the hell of it, though that is occasionally fun, I don't have the time to waste on superfluous minute aspects. So if you read something and it seems like it has been mentioned before, there is a good likelihood it was. There are many reoccurences. On that note, I do plan on tying up some loose ends I left in the beginning, such as what is with Amara and Michelle's seemingly random mentioning of their benefactor. Things really important in the long run are going to be periodically brought up again.
- So after hearing my wise words, and marvelous opinions, outside of the context of the story, I hopefully leave you longing for more of my quick wit and humor. Now then, I'm sleep deprived and should be working on homework and job applications.
Hope you enjoyed this episode. Sorry this episode took forever. Schoolwork and job applications have been an unpleasant, time-consuming experience. Anyway, feedback continues to be welcomed, so please E-mail me at [email protected]. Keep reading. =^D
