Welcome to the offical home page of the Pokanoket/Wampanoag.
The Pokanoket have been working on becoming a fully Federally recognized tribe. It has also been established through archealogical findings, that the Pokanoket have been living in Rhode Island for a lot longer than was originally thought. We hope to achieve Federal recognition within the next year or two. This site is for information on the happenings within the Pokanoket/ Wampanoag tribe, as well as other Native North American Indian Tribes. We will have links to many sites that deal with Native American issues, historical information, genealogical access, etc. Please book mark this page for future reference, as it will be updated weekly.
