Review: HIM in Cambridge
Umit

We got to the Corn Exchange at about 5:30pm and there was already a huge queue!! So much for us being at the front.  We waited outside the stage door for a bit (my friend has performed there, so she knows where everything is) to see if any of the band members came out, but we only saw random sound guys.  My friend

It was Burtons (the Keyboardist) birthday, and these people passed around a card for him.

We got into the Corn Exchange at about 7:15pm, and we went straight to the auditorium (we were standing) to try and get as near as possible to the stage.  We got to second row, which was about 2 metres away from the band.  At 7:45 ish, the support band, Cathedral played. They were really bad. The lead singer was a psycho, he kept trying to eat the microphone, and hang himself with the cord.  They finished at about 8:30, and HIM came on at 9pm-ish.

Ville came on stage dressed in a suit and they played Buried Alive By Love.  I cant remember the exact set list, but they played loads of songs off of And Love Said No and Love Metal, like Your Sweet 666, Funeral of Hearts, Join Me, and Solitary Man.

Some people (including me) threw glowsticks at the stage, and Ville said Some of you younger ones may not know how dis-orientating it is to have unidentified flying objects thrown at you, its like having sex and people throwing popcorn on your back! which was weird, but VERY funny =)

Towards the end of the show, we all sang Happy Birthday to Burton, and this chef guy came out with a cake (a bowl of cream) and chucked it in his face. That was funny.

The show ended at about 10:30pm, and overall it was an amazing gig. I didnt even like HIM that much when I went, but now I cant stop listening to them!!

Here are some photos I took.
