Review: Alien vs Predator
Tomety

The worst instance of all times, a fight between two forces, but who ever wins, we loose. The undeniable scary Alien from the series of the same name, and the Predator become locked in a head to head battle. Set in Antarctica, a group of scientist come across an ancient buried pyramid. But the Egyptian tomb holds more than treasures. The Alien life form has been dormant for years, but now hibernation is over.

Review: I was really looking forward to seeing this movie,
so I took myself of to the nearest cinema and got me one ticket for Alien Vs Predator. The movie starts off brilliantly; it sets the scene, lets you know whats going on, and has light connections to the previous movies throughout, One particular clip with Lance Henriksen (Bishop from the Alien Quadrilogy) where he performs his party trick with a knife. (Fans will understand when they see). The effects are excellent too. I always cringe when digitally created monsters are supposed to look real, but actually look like digitally created monsters. But these were superb. I am a huge fan of both movies, but maybe siding more with Alien. The mystery is solved, and The Predator is found to be one of the oldest living things our earth has seen. When they came down from space to rule the ancient settlements, as a sacrifice, people would be chosen to harbour Aliens. The Predator would then kill the alien to signify his voyage into warrior status. But if the Aliens became to strong the Predator would use its phenomenal force to self destruct, killing everything for hundreds of miles.
The screening was basically empty, but the peeps that joined me were really excited too. This all changed about 20 minutes before the end. The lead character, Lex, has to become friends with her enemy (The Predator) to overcome her other enemy The Alien. In doing so she forms a friendly pack which turns the whole ending into an awful rom com! You really have to see it to understand how cheesed of I am. The movies views change and the Predators are seen as a friendly establishing race, The Alien being the evil one. But they have the last laugh just before the credits. It made me smile anyway.
On the whole, a good movie, all the magazines Ive read have loved it, maybe a second viewing is in order.
I give Alien Vs Predator: 3 out of 5
