Inkubus Sukkubus are a goth-rock band based in Gloustershire, UK. They have strong Pagan and Occult influences. I reviewed their latest album, The Beast With Two Backs.
This album starts off with Hecate Cerridywn, which is a pagan chant. I think
I Just Can�t Get You Out Of My Head is a cover of the Kylie Minogue song, but InkiSuki changed the lyrics and made it much darker. The music is also different. Vampire Punk Rockers From Hell is OK, but it�s not as good as the last two songs. She Is Gone is another acousticy song, and is another of my favourites. City Of The Dead reminds me of The Beast With Two Backs, and it�s almost as good. The next track is Take My Lust which sounds really 80s-ish. I�m not sure if that�s good or not.
Erotic Angel has a creepy air raid siren at the beginning, which is weird, to say the least. The music is really familiar, which is why most Inkubus Sukkubus songs sound the same. I�m not saying that�s bad, though! The last song on this album is Jagermeister. It starts off with church organs, which I quite like. But then the electric guitars kick in and turn it into a folky-rock song. Candia�s vocals don�t sound as good as they usually do in this song.
Overall, The Beast With Two Backs is a great album, but the highlights are Vampyra, The Beast With Two Backs, I Just Can�t Get You Out Of My Head and She Is Gone.
