Film Review: Freddy vs Jason
Tomety

IAfter two decades of terror, murder and destruction, two of horrors most evil beings are joining together to create one hell of a movie
After a 4-year cover up plan to erase the memory of Freddy Krueger, a notorious child killer before his death, and now a dream demon after, has finally rid the small town, and particularly Elm Street, of his fatal nightmares.
So to regain his streak of terror among the towns teenagers, the conniving Freddy resurrects one of the destructive forces that joins him in hell. After posing as Mrs Voorhees, Freddy breathes new life into the one and only Jason Voorhees, the serial Camp Crystal Lake killer.
The two forces of evil then stalk the young of Elm Street, but without realising their hate for each other, the two turn their fury
to one another in an out of this world battle
You will just have to wait and see who reigns supreme!

Like so many fans of the two horror sagas, (Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street) I seriously could not wait to see this movie with its coming together of two of Hollywoods most notorious and famous creations.
Its taken over 10 years for the two to finally battle it out and back in 1993 when Jason goes to Hell, The Final Friday was released we had a small glimpse of how the two could finally meet. This was enforced when New Line Cinema became the holder of both set of deeds allowing the two to become one.
I was really worried that with all the CGI used in movies today, that the fighting sequences would become like the matrix, and seeing as Jason is meant to be this huge terrifying brute, I cant imagine a small blow from weedy Kreuger to send him flying across the room But to my delight they have kept CGI to a minimum, and have created a proper horror movie that unlike so many over the past few years really made me jump!
There is however one small thing that bugged me. Jasons mother, Pamela, was, if you dont already know, the original killer in the Friday movies, and she was portrayed brilliantly by Betsy Palmer. In Freddy Vs Jason, a new woman is used and her relationship with Jason has veered of the road to the original. I always got the feeling that Pamela was only out for revenge and in doing so became increasingly protective of Jason, whereas the new Pamela was written as a bully, a dominant mother pushing her son to do her work for her.
All in all this is, as my Latin teacher would say, SUPER! The acting from the cast, including Kelly Rowland (Destinys Child), is top notch I really cannot say enough good things about this movie, Im so glad they stuck to the rules and made a classic movie thats a treasure to watch

I give Freddy Vs Jason 5 out of 5 Demented Chickens
