| At the
same time I began collecting JARRAH BURLS
from old logging coups within a two to
three km radius of my property. All the
works I now produce are from a
nonrenewable resource, none of which have
been collected from a living tree. |

Each
burl is unique as texture, colour and it's
ability to enrapture or frustrate the carver, is
all dependant on the location the timber was
collected from. No piece is ever the same.
Despite carving many DARRADUP DUCKS. |

| A theme I grew to
love from owning the real thing. I would often draw
them in caricature with the bubble saying
something like is he going to feed us or carve
us. Luckily I
chose both. |

Now
each duck I carve has it's own distinct
character. I also design and produce one off,
functional items from Jarrah, Sheok and Marri.
Ranging from hand carved bowls in the shape of
swans and ducks to freeform designs. Also tables,
chairs and cabinets. |
