No. Chicago Hardcore United is a community. We're about unity and friendship when it comes to hardcore shows and mosh circles. Those who claim membership to CHU are those who embrace the idea of being non-selective and open minded in the dance circle. Whether you're a rookie to the scene or a veteran we will accept you, as long as you hold true to the values of hardcore: loyalty, respect, and commitment.
Nope. If you know someone involved ask them about it, and tell them you're interested. If you agree to what CHU is about, then your in. No initiations, no handshakes, nothing like that. The only reason CHU first came about on myspace was so we could spread word faster. It's easier to contact other members through myspace to plan for shows and shit.
Go to a show and find some kids who are a part of it. Tell them your interested in being a part of it, and that's all. Remember, this is a community not a club, everyone is accepted.
Sure, as long as you know what it's about. We're not about people throwing up a front when they don't trully understand something. It's like this, when you show that you're in CHU, you best be ready to explain what it's all about. You can make your own t-shirts, flyers, stickers, pins, even get a tattoo it's up to you.
Loyalty, Respect, and Commitment. Loyalty to your friends and other members of CHU by watching eachothers backs (in any kind of situation). Respect to anyone who sets foot on the dancefloor as long as they respect you. Committing to stay true to your own convictions. We hold true to the idea of being non-selective and open minded in our dance circles. Chicago Hardcore United is about unity, which ever way you look at it.
Yes. Most likely just shows involving CHU bands, but you never know. We're thinking about doing a Barbaque/Show toward the end of summer. Events would be a way for everyone to meet eachother and maybe bring some new people to get involved.
No. Everyone has their own beliefs and political persuasions, but this community is rooted in hardcore only.
People who are negative toward the aspect of the group, people trying to infiltrate just to talk shit, and people who throw up a front.
CHICAGO HARDCORE UNITED
Yes and no. I'll be honest, it really depends on member to member. We don't go looking for fights or anything like that, but some members will react in different ways at a show to people who are being negative. We all got eachother's backs but.......we DO NOT encourage violence or fighting without reason. Our group is about unity, not how many teeth we can knock out.
