JANUARY-Wolf Moon This is the first full moon of the calendar year. It is a time of silence and homelife. This is a time to appreciate the warmth of home and family. Take time now to make plans for the Spring. Start a journal now to jot down your ideas and plans.
FEBRUARY-Storm Moon This is an excellent time to begin your Spring cleaning. You may brun white candles and purifying incense. Clean out the cobwebs and prepare for the coming birth of spring. This is also an excellent time to begin thinking about what negatives you are wanting to banish from your life.
MARCH-Chaste Moon This is commonly known as the Moon of the Maiden and of the Fae. Now is the time to begin preparing your soil for planting. Gather your seeds .
APRIL-Seed Moon The time is right to begin planting you seeds be they in soil or in your heart and mind. Decorate your hom with colorful eggs and flowers to bring in joy and fertility. Plant your herbs on the full moon.
MAY-Hare Moon Here is the time to affirm and renew your sensuality and celebrate romance. Dance and make love by candlelight, a bonfire or fireplace.
JUNE-Dryad Moon The earth is thriving with life! The new has replaced the old. You may just want to spend some time outdoors. This is an excellent time to begin creating an outdoor altar.
JULY-Mead Moon This is a time to rest. The earth is in full bloom, the work is done. Take an evening walk, take a trip to the ocean. But, most of all, RELAX:)
AUGUST-Corn Moon This is a grain harvest moon. A time to gather the product of your labor. Bake breads, collect seeds for next season .
SEPTEMBER-Harvest Moon This is primarily a vine harvest moon. A time to make wines and celebrate with friends and family. A time to honor the Lord and Lady for the bountiful harvest. It is old tradition to try to catch the moons reflection in your glass and raise it up in salutation and feel their presence.
OCTOBER-Blood Moon In days gone by this was a time to hunt for game and store foods for the coming winter. This is the moon where the veil between the worlds is believed to be at its thinnest. Honor your ancestors by setting them a plate at your feast. You may also ask them for guidance and protection. Dont forget to carve a jack-o-latern:)
NOVEMBER-Snow Moon The wheel turns and the air blows colder now. This is a time for inner growth and reflection since outter growth has all but come to a halt. This is a wonderful time for divination and developing other psychic abilities.
DECEMBER-Oak Moon This is commonly known as the time when the Sun begins to return. The Goddess awaits her consort. It is customary to make wreaths of cedar, ivy, holly, oak or pine. On the full moon you may burn them as an offering.
Blue Moon- There is a bit of conflict concerning this moon but this is the definition I am going to give:) A blue moon occurs when two full moons fall within one calendar month. It is customary to make plans to do something completely different during this time. Contact old friends or arrange a surprise for a loved one. |
