The Punchbowl
Just an hour outside of San Diego, Tucked away in a quiet mountain pass, a solid rock waterfall looms over a cool clear pool of water. With low cliffs and high cliffs, this spot is perfect for a cliffjumper of any level of insanity.
Mike, Nick, Fil, Yan and I set out to conquer those cliffs and also survive a night in the wilderness. The guys here doing what we did both days. Lounging around and soaking up the sun.. Oh and lots of cliffjumping of course, the ledge that i took this picture from is where you jump.
Fil cooked some damn good food over an open fire. Mike was the experienced cliff jumper. Nick was the storyteller, but it wasnt very good.. Yan, the german, helped Mike make his first dread and woke up with a snake in his sleeping bag. While I was the only guy who could talk to the Brazilians girls who showed up. Damn they were hot, and what tiny little bikinis!!
Sad to report that The Punchbowl has been coverd by a layer of ash due to the October 2003 wildfires. Lets all hope that nature can restore this beautiful place.
