| Luna by Kenneth A. Elliott High above in a sea of black All aglow from light shining back; The cool night breeze sweetly sweeps Oer the dark, moist pines in the forest deep. Lunas light veils stars so bright; Her gleaming beautys a wondering sight. Black twirling water of the river below Captures her beauty in its flickering flow. A world suspended in blackness above Passes through history as the aegis of love. Each month her face grows full and bright: She pulls the Earth with all her might. All manner of creatures on Earth do feel The effects of her grip; great power to wield. The seas are pulled to and fro Like the bodies of men, wherever they go. Strange feelings and actions all abound When Lunas full face comes around. Actions and thoughts markedly change: When she smiles, men become strange. Full moon Chomedey, Qubec June 4, 1993 |
