Soaring Seabirds

by

Kenneth A. Elliott

Soaring seabirds oer the river
Beneath the crystal blue of sky,
Cubes of ice from springs early melt
Sauntering slowly under geese on high.

Westward zephers gently brush
Debris from winters weary stay;
Ducks and geese returning from the south
Unerringly find their northern way.

The daystars smile gently warming
Both fish and foul with the budtimes awakening.
New life prepares its emerging;
Another winters passage gladly forsakening.
