Lose To Love

We gnaw away on our ties of love

With conversation turning to push and shove

We bang our heads together in spite

Each of us is always in the right

While the other is ridiculously wrong

And really we both are wailing the same song

We overworked and underfed our ties

In an effort to drown love in a tide of lies

The two of us play tug-of-war

And a game of trashing the future for what’s happened before

Winning this battle between us two

Is a bond that refuses to break clear through

Our fight we both lose to love

That simple bond born from above

The Fort

Whiling my day away

In a wooden rockin chair

If it should rain, that will be ok

I have no wants or care

The bustling of the boats

The swirling water of the lake

Sounds in which anger is choked

Peace of mind is mine to take

Tired

I am done

This world I now shun

You who remain here

Do not shed a tear

For I have lost my dignity

I am damned infinity

Do not look back

For a two-bit hack

Rejoice each day

Take what comes your way

Do not mark my grave with a stone and flowers

Throw me in a ditch for bums and cowards

Erase my name

I will deface my shame

I am not what you thought

And I have been caught
