'for a moment in my thoughts of you'
08*29*01
let me kiss your can of soda pop, smear my lipstick
around, watch it leave an imprint on your lips, around
your lips, like a kiss, a mark, a tattoo of lust and
love and every road the runs in between.
let me wash my hair in your bathtub, use your shampoo,
your conditioner that smells like strawberry
shortcake, the doll, with the pink hair, not the
dessert, let me try on a day with my roots in your
flavor.
let me walk around with your words in my head,
speaking silent wishes, prayers, commands, hearing a
little sputter of you in my ears, like headphones, a
stereo, my love filling in the blanks of my mind.
let me listen to the inner echo of your heartbeat,
pounding, strutting, growing more slow in your sleep,
while you dream, eyes fluttering in close lids, ice
cream and red hair dye and candy coloured psychic
visions, dancing inside of who you are.
let me wake one morning to find your arm around me,
messy hair, morning breath, you air tapping me on the
back of the neck, waking me, waiting for me, knowing
that you are really here to stay.
