Johan Wentzel
Debris
Oh,
you wish to
know
what it is
I’m cherishing
in my
hand
Look,
isn’t it sweet
this
piece of debris
leftover splinter
of my stolen
heart.
Johan Wentzel
Lost
I gaze into the mirror
to seek a compromise
to clear my heart and spirit
of sorrow and of pain
I gaze into the mirror
alas, a hapless place
from hence I see reflection
albeit my own face.
Johan Wentzel
Loneliness
I need the smile
you flashed
in a moment
of tender
carelessness
I need the pain
of my soul
as it falls apart
on a bed
of ruthlessness
I need the moments
of silent recovery
when life ebbs away
in the desperation
of my loneliness.
