In night's embrace, I trace
the shadow features of your face;
Longing to drown in eyes, never
seen in light of day. Heart
fluttering, at the static
caress of phantom fingers
running down my skin; my soul
unclenching, at the rain of
sweet love-words, from lips
I've ached to kiss.
I smile, at the ephemeral
touch of your silken breath
on blushing cheeks.
But my smile fades, when I
turn my head to catch
your whispered words,
only to realize --
I've wakened
from a dream.
son of the moon
you descend from
the heavens on
footprints of sparkling
silver, come to
court, offering
a bouquet of
ethereal blooms.
gently, you
gather me, unresisting
in your dark
embrace, cool
silk, caressing,
slithering over
blushing skin;
then you whisper
in my ear, in the
secret language of
trees and seas:
a lover's serenade.
